You've owned how many Lightnings, yet you still think that handles like a cow? Do they make a camo 4x4 edition?

By the way, I ventured out to, whatever that catchy name was you had for Bass Pro this past weekend... Was freaking packed.

You went to Bass Pro . . . the week before Christmas?

You know me. You also know I've driven a lot of exotic sports cars.

Compared to them, it handles like a cow.

That said, none of the exotics I have ever driven were as fun as the GT500.

Well, I was in S-town, and figured I should finally start my Christmas shopping... Combined with the construction, it was awful.

Why's that? Just the power/noise?

Accessibility, it felt like a real car, not a piece of art I was afraid to drive. It felt like something you could drive anywhere, bumpy road or not. Comfort (it's roomier than 911, or an F430 (a lot roomier than F430). But mostly it was a more real driving experience (not that you really get that much of an "experience" driving in L.A.) in a real car.

Well, here in the middle 0 nowhere, MO, my shopping choices are limited to Walmart and JCPenny's. Oh, and Dollar General. :o I've got some shopping done, but only about half of what I need to do.

The selection might not be as good, but there's still sales.

It seems that WalMart - or as people out here say "The WalMarts" - and Penney's have a lock on the midwest.

There's a Macy's and a Target in Joplin, but that big city vibe is just too much for my new found sensibilities.

Here's a tip for next year and all the Xmases that follow:

On Line Shopping.

If you want something form Bergdorf Goodman, no problem. You want something from Amazon, no problem. You want something from Bass Pro, no problem. Turn on your computer, open your browser, click, and it's delivered to you, usually without paying sales tax! Even better!

And for small specialties stores that do not have a web shopping presence . . . say that small boutique in Manhattan Beach . . . pick up the phone and call.

Much better than fighting crowds, waiting in line, looking for places to park (and having your vehicle dinged up in crowded parking lots).

Tard avoidance alone justifies shopping online.

Win - Win.

You can thank me next year.

I've never really been a fan of the "glamour" Mustangs -- I wish Ford would come up with a niche vehicle for the $50k plus segment instead. Maybe something to compete with the Corvettes and Vipers on an ongoing basis.

The GT was awesome, but it was so out of reach economically for most people that it was little more than a wet dream for 99% of the population.....
