Sure, but if you're really only going 5%-10% over ( i.e. 50 in a 45) it's highly unlikely you'llbe pulled over. Even at a 65 limit, 10% over would only be 71.5, you're still pretty unlikely to be pulled over.

So how do you plan on paying for your speeding tickets and increased insurance rates?

I almost ordered one of those and always wondered if it would have been worth the cash. I went with an Escort 8500 instead.

Driving the speed limit and not giving the police reason's to look to closely at you works the best.

No. What works best is driving what I drive.

The Invisomobile. (Here's a picture of me driving it)

Invisible to sight but not radar. Cops will still pick it up, but they have no idea why their radar displays 100mph and they see nothing or a nearby car that is clearly doing 55.

It's a win-win for me. I get to speed and not get caught, and watch cops be confused.

I got pulled for 81 in a 75 in Montana.

The only thing a cheap radar detector is going to do is let you know you're getting pulled over.

As soon as the thing starts going off the cop has you on radar and is going to be pulling you over.

Just drive the speed limit.

Unless of course you're still trying to look "cool"

You're going to look even cooler getting a ride to school in moms minivan after you get your license revoked for speeding. But hey, at least you looked cool speeding with your radar detector!

Most radar detectors will pick up our radio traffic signals and set off a signal in your detector so you know we are close by.

If we hit you with Laser its already too late since I already have a reading when your detector goes off...it just tells you you're going to get pulled over.

The cheap ones don't work so don't waste your money.

Some states they are illegal to have, it can get you pulled over but not really worth my time. I know I can stop you for speeding so all you did is waste your money.

Valentine 1's are one of the better ones out there, but you pay to play.

No detector can help you if I'm able to pace you.

A buddy has a Escort Passport 8500 which is pretty to look at. Does what all other detectors do though which is pick up radio signals and tell you that you've been lasered too late.

As a retired cop with many years giving tickets to people with detectors, none of them are worth the money you pay for them. Any cop who really wants you will defeat your detector.

If you don't speed you save money (less gas, no tickets, less insurance, don't need to buy detector) and think of the lower stress you'll experience not worrying about that cop out there that's really bent on getting you.
