i think hes a rambling redneck....says the car should have less HP? less HP means the car is going to need to burn more fuel to move the same vehicle at the same speed....meaning less fuel economy. if im wrong say so, but untill then...rambling redneck.

The hybrid is the answer to a question that only a politician would be stupid enough to ask. BMW makes a full size 4 door diesel that gets around 80 mpg hiway and is available with a manual transmission only. But you can't have it. Thank you Washington! Ford makes a diesel Ranger that is the same size as a Tacoma and gets over 35 mpg hiway but you can't have it. Thanks Washington! The Nissan diesel Frontier is available every where in the world but here. Thanks again Washington! In case you don't get around much, there are a lot of countries around the world that are eons ahead of us in technology. Germany has had high def TV for decades, high speed internet years before we did. The computer technologies world wide are more advanced than what you can get here. It seems like we are the dumping ground for the old crap and they can still a premium for it from the stupid Americans. As far as cars go, there's a world of technologies out there that would have us off of oil tomorrow....but you can't have it. There are engine technologies out there that will run quite good on methane gas you can make at home......but you can't have it. Engines that will run on biodiesel that is made at home.....but you can't have it. Ya see, the politicians in Washington have no way to tax you for the fuel YOU are making....so, you can't have it. There is no fuel shortages folks, it's all about the power and the greed.

Hybrids are the status symbol of the "touchy-feely class" who delude themselves into thinking they are actually helping the environment by driving one. Sell them like heck in California to Lefties who have more money than brains.....

^ had a few beers today but in all reality he is correct with the whole battery argument. they are pricey to replace. The whole deal with making more people drive to work to make these things?? people have to drive to work to make his john deere and his goofy t-shirt. If he is so worried about fuel, and the economy why is he driving 2 minivans that get crappy mileage and why doesnt he have one of those old push mowers that dont use any fuel? i stand by my rambling redneck theory, he is just trying to make a scene.

I would have to say you are wrong on this one. My boss has one. But how ever, it might not be the one you are talking about. His only gets about 65-70mpg.

There are a few of those can't have in the US cars that are shipped over via the grey market. There aren't enough to count though. You just can't order one from the local BMW dealership.

same way the honda crowd gets jap spec cars. headlights in one box, tails in another. crate the engine, and ship them and the rest of the car over as separate pieces.

My local Ford dealer is $85, some private shops range from $45 to $120 an hour.
