Fire Fighters let a guy house burn down b/c of $75 fee
the way it is different is that its not like being in a car wreck and losing your car. youre losing your home! the guy is stupid for not paying the 75 bucks for fire protection, but for anyone to sit there and watch it burn is the most un american and un neighborly thing i have heard of in a long time. if you see an accident happen and dont help, they can ticket you for failure to render aid.....how is this any different?

This guy's home was a mobile home and not a real structure. More than likely the firemen wouldn't have been able to save the place anyway. Those things go up in flames instantly.
That said, I agree they should have tried to do more than roast marshmallows on the guy's burning home. There is a moral obligation here that is hard to overlook.
If there had been a person in the house at risk, then there would be even more issues here to look at.
It all comes down to having a fire protection service paid through a private means is industrial strength stupid.
