Netflix

Just joined Netflix for my first free month. Any users on here? What are your experiences with Netflix, worth keeping or no? I have a Wii so I plan on streaming a lot through there rather than getting the dvds and watching them, but the lil' lady and I already have 39 in queue to be sent, so I guess we'll try the dvds too, lol.

I have it and it's great. But there's a redbox in the harris teeter down stairs so I usually just go grab a movie from there. I mainly use netflix for the instant streaming.

I've had Netflix for 3 years. Because we don't have (nor want) cable watching movies online is real convenient. I also have the "3 at a time" subscription which is nice.

I don't like the fact that Netflix caters to sodomites by having their own category. What's next pedophiles? (oops I guess they are the same).

I think it costs to much.

10 bucks a month for the cheap one and how many movies could you possibly get in a month by mail? 4 mabey? You can get .99 cent movies at the redbox.

The only thing I like about it is the streaming. If they didnt have streaming it would be worthless IMO.

But the streaming is awesome!

I've checked it out, they don't have any real good movies I want to see, just stuff from years passed I've seen hundreds of times. I like RedBoxes

You can't! Redbox and Netflix don't generally get "New Release" movies until 28 days after their release. Redbox does make exceptions sometimes. *That I've seen*

I have a videophile friend that uses Netflix and Redbox. He has some program that allows him to copy them for his collection. No, he doesn't share or sell them. I get most of my stuff free from the internet. Loads of brand new movies out there for free if you look around. I generally see movies before they are in the theaters. Most of the stuff on Netflix is available at a bunch of the internet site for free. Try Stagevu, Veoh, Channelsurfing, even Hulu has movies and TV shows. But there are a bunch of them out there.

The movie companies went after Redbox and Netflix in court because no one was buying the DVD's anymore. Why would I buy the DVD when the day it comes out I can go rent it for .99 cents? And Rebox use to sell DVDs from the box for like 5 bucks after a few months? So why pay 20 bucks when I can get it for 5 in a few months?

So they made a deal with them that they will release them 28 days after the initial release. And they can no longer sell them out of the redbox. Didnt do much tho. People already waited 4 months for the movie to come out. Whats another 28 days?

USA Today had an article on it. Ill see if I can find it

That sucks that you can't get new releases right away! I've been using Blockbuster Online for the last couple years and love it. New releases the same day they come out and you can switch the movies out at the store (I still have a store nearby)which really helps to get your moneys worth on the monthly fee. Unfortunately, I heard they were going bankrupt so don't know what the future holds. I was planning to go to Netflix if that happens, but I don't know now.
