Yeah that 98 5.9 i raced was stock pretty much. He ran a 18.1 I believe . It might have been older, prolly a 12v 5 or 6speed being that slow.

I kno a guy who had/s a leveled 07 CTD 5.9. I'm not sure what all he had done. but he was running 35's on moto metals, strait piped with some kind of chip obviously. Cause i think he said he ran a 13.6 or somewhere in the 13's. It was a pretty sweet truck. Last time i saw him he had a 7.3 supercrew f350 with a big flatbed tho he might have got rid of it.

Should be a 24v. Up until recently, diesels haven't really been "fast" from the factory, so i think your fine unless he had major stuff

That truck will make your ford roll over and die.

why do you assume that? It's built to pull, not race. It's quite a bit heavier, has less hp, and not much torque for a diesel. Modern gas engines are making almost as much torque as that engine. You'll take it.

Unless he has some stuff done that he didn't tell you about. its heavier than yours. its around 235hp/215hp and 460/420lbft. He shouldn't beat you. I beat a 98 cummins with my non PI 5.4 so...

Just race the damn thing. If you win, you beat a Cummins! If you lose, no big deal because it's a Cummins.

x2...nothing shameful about losing to that truck (or any truck, honestly...unless you own an L or HD, a stock truck is not really built for speed).
