I have beaten several cummins ranging from completely stock to slightly modified, the big question is, is it auto or stick? The manual trans on them take forever to shift, and you will stand a much better chance if it is a manual, just make sure you race him from a dig and not from a roll, because they have such low gearing that it takes them a few seconds to get into a high enough gear to really make some speed.

No way will you beat him. I think you could always find a faster cummins than an f150. No matter what the f150 has done to it, there will be a cummins faster.

if hes stock (tuner wise) i think you would stand a chance.

then it depends on if he does a boosted launch or not. the ones ive drivin are slow as crap till they build boost

Last I heard, Joey still had the F-150. He also built himself a 1996ish reg cab short bed F-350 7.3 that was pretty sweet, but then I saw it on Craigslist a month or two ago...

And a stockish 1998 Cummins is going to be slow.

Yeah I think you'd take him...the truck only made about 215 hp/ 440 tq in stock form; in a 3/4 ton truck, that's not much to get it moving. Not compared to later-model cummins, at least.
