Any pilots on the board?

I'm new her and while lurking around I noticed that there were a couple of pilots. Who are you and what do you fly?

I'm a helicopter pilot (PPL, CPL) I fly 22s and 44s

My advice to you would be to stay away from the Red board (AOPA Forums) if you want good advice and a laid back attitude then try The Purple Board

Thank you for your service! How are you holding up with most of the fleet being retired? Any plans on moving to the C-17?

You're welcome Not much to hold up against, and I don't think "most of the fleet" is an appropriate term. Only a small portion of the older A models have gone to a boneyeard. A good chunck of the A's are still in service with the Guard, with the B fleet being upgraded. C-5's will not be gone (not even from the active duty) in my career.

No plans what-so-ever of going to C-17's. If so, I better learn the prase "Welcome to Walmart, here's your cart"

Yes, sorry about the poor choice of words. Was reading that 17 A models were being retired in FY11. Was just wondering if this would effect you. The C-5 is still a favorite of mine. I have a great memory of watching a C-5 land in Farmingdale (FRG) to transport one of the first A-10As out of Republic to Edwards AFB. My father was a structural / stress engineer on that aircraft and was able to get me front row seats to the "event". Been hooked ever since.

You have a hell of a job, and I wish you continued success!
