I think Joe already answered your question - it IS 5!**3 or 1,728,000 possible combinations. (But I think 5 shirts would be too hot!)

Your question, the way I read it, does not seem to rule out a "repeat" - i.e., a legal combination is all three people wearing shirt # 1.

Why not girls? If it was girls the answer would be simple.

I agree w NoLonger. I should have thought it out more


The way we were arguing the problem was that you could only wear 1 shirt at a time, wearing no shirt was not an option, and they could wear the same colors at the same time
