Boy Scouts Boo Obama

Serves his *** right. Passing up the 100th year of the scouts just to get his melon head on TVs' "The View". Priorities matter. Cnn page has taken been taken down. I wonder why? Here is the youtube video of Obama making a "video taped" speach to the scouts:

We have a couple wars, economic problems, two stalled political parties and you are upset the President of the United States did not make time for the boy scouts? Really? If you are looking for something, I think you missed the obvious.

I am all about being fair - did you bitch when W spent the most days of any sitting President (ever) on vacation? Seriously, it is attitudes like yours that are being reflected in Congress right now.
"So and so does not believe 100% the same as me, so I am going to vote 100% against them and get nothing accomplished". It is on both sides.
Do you believe that one party has the market cornered on "right" answers?
But I bet you don't mind that folks like Sarah Palin are touring the country pushing the divisions further apart. Let's not worry about the good of the country, let's spend all our time whining like little babies about everything the President does - that is going to help.

Maybe you are right though, I guess the President could just refuse to openly communicate with the people and just tap their phones so he will know what they are thinking about. Oh wait, that was a bad idea - we already tried that one. Sorry.

I think the point is that, given the choice, he chose to be on a television show to make himself look good in the eyes of voters rather than be present for the 100 year anniversary of one of this nation's most honored and patriotic associations. Of course, the Boy Scouts aren't exactly a liberal organization, are they? It's not just congress that's bickering over party lines. It's not like he was enacting economic policy or planning strategic defense... he was on the freaking View.

I understand the president can't be everywhere, but part of being the leader of the most powerful nation in the world is making good decisions. So far, I haven't seen much of that. This slap in the face to the Boy Scouts isn't going to make or break him or the country, but it's just another occasion where I and many others shake our heads and say, "What was he thinking?"

He was thinking a lot more people watch the view than give a hoot about the boy scouts and he made a smart decision. Personally, I have never watched the view and I could care less about the boy scouts. My point is this - it does NOT matter if he was on the view or the moon - People are going to find a reason to whine about it if Fox brings it to their attention. It just drives me up the wall when everything is blamed on the president - no matter who is in office, but the same people are willing to overlook the errors of whatever party they support. If the same energy was put into taking ALL our elected officials to task without regard for "koolaid flavor", we would have a much better political system.

That was a well thought out and reasoned statement. Please cite the examples from which your statement was developed. You have my curiosity peaked.

Yeah, because his iPod and Lindsey Lohan are far more important than celebrating a century old American Institution. He could've just as easily video taped his monologue on politics for the View and visited the Boy Scouts in person. 1 Million young men, many of which will likely become American soldiers, and their 300,000 scout leaders don't compare 6.6 million housewives when it comes to a popularity contest.

I will agree with you that blaming everything on the sitting president isn't fair or productive, no matter what party he's (or she) is in. I'm not disposed to simply give him a pass for a bad decision either.
