I can't believe this board censored part of the name of a popular breed of board. Puhlease!

Prople do horses and bulls, all of the time.
Imagine, you go to the horse races. Chances are, that winning horse was once in a petri dish.

But then maybe they use one of those milking machines at the dairy. Then milk the old cow with it

FYI, I've had 6 dogs since I was a kid, been around lots of neighbors dogs (10 or so are always over at my parents house) and I've never had a problem before. I love animals, or at least those who know how to act around people.)

Second, I call complete BS on the 'act like the dominant male and the dog wont attack you' mentality. I know lots of vet school students here, so I ran that idea by them at a cookout last week. 7 out of 9 laughed. They all started saying; "what does it matter what the human acts like? If the dog has a dominant personality, it's going to get aggressive and perhaps bite." I guess there's a reason that all of them are cautios around strange dogs, rather than just storming around acting like the dominant figure

This was my thought exactly. It doesnt matter who I am or what I act like. Sure, timidness might add to the aggressiveness of the dog, but point blank, if the dog is dominant, he's going to be more likely to bite you, no matter what you act like. Like I said before, I'll let you show me how to 'be the smart, strong human' around a dog that is on its hind legs, snarling and trying to get the chance to attack you.

CONTROL YOUR FREAKING DOGS PEOPLE
You're way off base. You've fabricated most of the conversation up to this point so there's no point in trying to set you straight when your out in the bush.

And forgive me if I use the at asking vet school student's. We all know what college is. Let's not even get into the "You said - My drunkin' friends said..."

The dogs are just probably muslim extremists, trying to exterminate your kind - one christian at a time. Your right, stay outside.

OK, I've looked at this statement and tried to ignore it for the last few days but I have to speak my mind. (something that usually gets me into trouble...) We have had every single one of our male dogs neutered and our female dogs spayed. We will continue to do so and it has absolutely nothing to do with not wanting to deal with a dog's sexuality. I have no problem openly admitting my reasoning...I am a firm believer in not adding to the growing population of unwanted puppies in this country. Simple as that. There is absolutely no reason not to get your dog fixed unless you are using it for breeding purposes. A male dog can smell a female dog in heat for a distance of at least 3 miles and since you stated your dog was allowed to run free, undoubtedly he got way more than the neighbors lab pregnant. That is irresponsible pet ownership. Humane societies and animal shelters all over the country are overflowing with puppies that nobody wants because people are unwilling to take the responsibility of having their dogs fixed. I have never been able to understand this mentality, I can't decide if ********* on a male dog are some sort of extension of a mans virility and hence they're reluctant to have them removed or what the deal is but it's ridiculous. Get your dog fixed people, it's a simple operation and if more people did it we wouldn't have the so many dogs being euthanized in this country.

We eat dinner as a group once a week. Sometimes theres up to 15 vet students there; you're more than welcome to stop by. You'll see just how 'fabricated' my story is then.
