America. Obvious answer from me but the point I was trying to make was that the War On Terror, or whatever we are calling it these days has many participants, willing or not.
Both London and Madrid have suffered Islamic terrorist attacks and although not on the scale of 9/11, it affects all of us.

It's a big world out there. Not just American lives have been tragically lost and not just Americans are fighting.

Seeing as we won't be electing another president until 2012, I'll go out on a limb and say we WILL have a democrat in the white house next year, 2011.

I get that. Though Spain folded like a house of cards, while Britain and the rest of the world has suffered terrorist attacks on their soil, and mostly tolerated them, for 40+ years. It took an attack on American soil to get any real action... Though whether that action will amount to anything in the long run is yet to be seen.

I don't think anyone should be allowed to build anything there, it should be a memorial site.

If you read the article it is 12 blocks away from ground zero... These posts sound like it is to be built on ground zero.

If it is not on the site, then I have no problem with it. It's not horrible because it's a Mosque, Muslims have the same rights as anyone else in America, but to build on ground zero, that'd tick me off.

So the truth is revealed. Another reason why national news can't be trusted.

12 blocks - no problem. Dedicate it on 9/11 - BIG problem. Dedicate it on the first day of Ramadan or something.

The "Big Sexy" is always welcome at my place

I realize everyone has a different opinion on what should be done with the site, but I would've rebuilt it bigger and better, just as a way to tell the people who did it, and the people who supported it to "suck it".

Maybe create a park between the 2 buildings (or however many) and dedicate that park to the victims as a memorial or whatever.

Business as usual and all that stuff.

WRONG! The current mosque is 12 blocks away, this will be 600 feet from ground zero.

A mosque at ground zero?
By Jeff Jacoby
Globe Columnist / June 6, 2010
IS GROUND ZERO the right place for a major new mosque and Islamic cultural center? Cordoba House is a 15-story, $100 million development to be built just 600 feet from where the World Trade Center stood; the plans include the mosque, a 500-seat auditorium, swimming pool, restaurant, and bookstore
