Good luck getting 31mpg from that Mustang. And, there is nothing wrong with a V-6 Mustang. But, the GTs are much more fun!

The original Fiesta was a British Ford and it was a pile of crap. The Festiva was a Mazda 121 built by Kia and it was a pretty decent little car. I had one and got 170k out of it, still had the original clutch.

I'd rather have a Ford car from overseas than one from here. Ever seen the Australians Ford Falcon Ute? BEAST!

It was such a pile of crap it kept selling and selling and is still being sold ,It is one of Ford's most successful cars with over ten million sold in six distinct generations since 1976 ,designed by the Ford Motor Company in Europe, and also manufactured in Brazil, Mexico, China, India and South Africa so i guess ford got that wrong?

What I think I'm most concern about is how well do you think the depreciation value on it will be. I know it won't be like getting a 4x4 F-150 but I just don't want it to be as bad as a kia...

And as for the V6 mustangs, I'm going to hold my thoughts on that...

...As for any mustang up to the new ones, I'd agree with you - "V6 Mustangs are for girls." But not anymore...anything that does a sub-14 sec. 1/4 mile is not a chick car.

Its cheap..Lol. I'm only thinking about it because it is cheap gets good gas mileage plus its going to be my winter rat. And it has a warranty if I need it. Which a mustang is a decent price(MSRP cheaper than a taurus) but not that good in the winter.

^^yeah, I wasn't doggin' (or meaning to at least ) your choice of ride...I would definitely roll in a fiesta over any of the other subcompacts.

True dat...I got one for my lady. She drives an '03 V6. With a K&N and a some ignition upgrades (Screamin' Demon coil, MSD wires, and double gapped plugs) I have seen 28.9 MPG. That's a calculated average for an entire tank...no dummy gauge needed. I fully believe 31 MPG is possible in the new ones.

Biggest trick...getting her to drive like a 28 year old instead of a 16 year old.

Thought about it! But I think it's more to do with acceleration. For instance, the majority of that 28.9 MPG was going close to 90 MPH in the deserts of New Mexico (straight and flat for MILES). But, it took me forever to get there because I accelerate like a grandma.

In order to consider this thread "not hijacked"...I think the Ford Fiesta rocks! I ride my motorcycle (45+ MPG) all summer and most of the spring and fall. But once we start to get a few more used Fiestas on the market, I've been thinking about getting one for a "winter commuter".
