What Lawnmower to buy!!!:???

Alright so i am getting close to closing on a house and its on 5 acres..two are fenced so the rest i have to mow. I really want a zero turn, at least a 60" deck, but not sure what to get, there are alot. Im even up to get a used one ,but not sure what to look for as far as hours go. I also dont want to spend like 10000 bucks, but i dont want a piece of crap either. Just curious if any of you guys have any experience with this

My dad has one of these. I think theyre $1,500-$2,000 or so new...not sure.
Takes 2 hours or so to mow his 3 acres. Good little mower, plus its a got a Kohler engine .
May be a bit small for what you want, but this is a good little machine. (I'd get the twin cylinder motor, dad's only got the single)

I have a cub cadet SLT 1554, 27hp 54" cutting deck, very comfy, cruise. I mow at least 4-5 acres and it takes about 2-3 hrs. Have had it for 5 years and no issues, easy deck removal (1 minute). I paid like 2,100, get an older used cub as they are the best...

If you want a mower that is going to last you about as long as you, look to the Gravely mowers. This is the machine that the lawn service guys use 12-14 hours a day here and rarely do they break down. It's not unusual to see them still going after 6-7 years of that kinda use. One with a 60" cut will probably cost you something like $4500.00+. Here's one on Fleabay and free delivery:

I have used the dixie choppers in the past and they run really well and cut very nice, but for the last three years I have been cutting with a Ferris but it has a 72" deck and 37 hp motor and its never have a problem in the last 250 hours but a used Ferris imo would be a mower I would buy if I was in your shoes. I have heard good things about the gravelys to like someone said I know a friend that cuts lawns with them and speaks highly of them.

Dixie Choppers will haul #$$ too. The next one I buy probably will be a chopper. But I like my Snapper also, it's been a great mower. I'll probably get another ten years out of it

Just make sure you buy from a Cub dealer and not a store like Tractor Supply. The Cubs from Tractor Supply are NOT the same as from a dealer. For example, the front wheels use plastic bushings rather than bearings. Stay away from them.

Not a fan of the Cub Cadets... Not as comfortable as a similar Deere, and the Deers are faster.

Dixie Chopper and Gravely make some great zero turn mowers. I have a 42" Toro zero turn that does great with my lawn. Cut with it after work this evening.

I work for Husqvarna on the zero turn side. I'd recommend our MZ6128. Not a lot of info online but I can answer any questions you have.
