Terrible tragedy

I don't normally post things like this but I feel I have to. Last week on Tuesday, I lost a dear friend of mine that I work with. He had just turned 30 and was expecting a baby girl. He went home early from work with a headache that later got much worse. He drove himself to the hospital where it's believed he had a brain aneurysm that caused a massive amount of pressure to build up in his head. Later that night after being in a coma, he passed away. To make things even more heart wrenching, his daughter was born on friday.

He shared a love for F150s as we all do on this site. He had an 06 FX4 that he loved and modded....I remember him calling me almost daily back in 06 asking me about my f150 and all the different things he should/shouldnt look for when buying a truck and how he went back and forth between an stx and fx4. i let him drive my 5.4 and he was sold lol

he was also a huge buffalo sabers fan and his family set up a profile on the buffalo sabers' beard-a-thon site...if any of you feel generous enough to donate, here's the page link....
https://www.beardathon.com/sabres/ixdta39/profile.aspx

he's in the lead by a hefty margin so we wanna keep it that way!!!

He leaves behind many many friends and people that adored him and will miss him very much. He always did all he could to help everyone succeed at work and he was respected by all. His death shocked us all and nobody was prepared for it and most are still in shock. It was only last week that we were planning our snowboarding trips for next year to hit up aspen, tahoe, mammoth, and our local big bear mtns.

so please everyone that reads this, pray for Van and his family. He left behind his parent, 2 brothers, a sister, a fiance, and a beautiful baby girl as well as hundreds of friends and co workers. R.I.P. Van

I had to shed a few tears when i read this. What a tough situation. I hope everyone says a prayer an the lord watches over this family and protects them. Just goes to show how fragile life is. Sounds like a guy who made friends easily and was always thinking about others instead off himself.

I had a friend, same thing happened. He was in a coma for quite a long time. He slowly came to and then he has slowly been gaining back his talking, movement, ect. He had a big hole in his head but last I hear, he made a short speech at church and stood up for a while. Something sudden like that is what I fear the most. Stuff like that seems worse than a battle with cancer or a serious disease.

glad your friend is doing better and gaining functions back

yeah thats whats so difficult about the whole thing. i had just spoken to him about integrating his door handle keypad on his f150 to his viper alarm on the saturday before it happened. i had to go to vegas for a week long conference for work so i was out of town when it happened. just sucks that was the last thing i talked to him about...but then again, he loved talking about these things so its not all bad. but he was perfectly functioning and all the day before...just went home with a headache, then it just went way downhill from there.

i gotta wake up tomorrow for his funeral...at least i know for a fact theres going to be 100+ people there all paying their respects to him. this is gonna be hard for me as well as a lot of people there as he was close to many people.
