Is the muffler worth scrapping?

Put a new exhaust on my truck and my budy's z71, is it worth taking the stock ones (Muffler with the tailpipes, both with like 2k miles on them) to a scrap yard?

Prob not but i thought i would ask before i chuck them out

Yes it is worth it. You get a few bucks and it doesn't lie around your garage to be tripped over.

If you have room to store them, keep them to put back on to get rid of the truck later. You may get a better tradein from a dealer if it has the stock exhaust.

I would keep it and store it in case you need to put it back on one day. I have had two vehicles inspected for registration recently and the inspection includes a visual inspection for the exhaust system which is a new thing here.

Really its worthless and you wont get the money back for the amount of gas you wasted scrapping it.
Steel/tin pays less than 50 cents for 100 pounds most of the time.

Cats are the only part of an exhaust worth scrapping.

Keep them!

Unless you seriously don't have a place to put them.

Even if you know a friend or family member or something that has a good sized basement or storage... just give it to them to store for you.
