craigslist

Does everyone have as much trouble with craigslist as I do? In the last week I have been ticked off twice. Once was a scam on an F250, nice truck and the price was way to cheap but you never know (example: Bought two 98 seadoos and an aluminum trailer for $750, granted they need motor work). Second was an edge programmer for the truck for $150. I emailed the guy about it and he gave me back a smart *** reply that he had already answered my questions. I told him to keep his programmer and I would buy one else were. I would rather pay full price for something than to have to deal with an *** hat like that.

After that vent hows everyone elses dealings on craigslist.

I agree, I knew the truck was a scam but the tuner absolutely ticked me off.

I bought my truck off CL locally last year. I had no problems with that purchase.

However I recently bought a cell phone from CL and it turned out to be on the lost or stolen list for Verizon. Couldnt get ahold of the guy since... So I have been burned on CL before and I know what you're talking about.

I've ran into some of the weirdest folks selling stuff on Craigslist.

I posted a for sale ad for a guitar amp. The first reply I get was some dude asking if I had problems paying my bills; I dismissed that as a scam and the next one was from another dude asking if I could ship it to Bahrain or something.

I finally got an e-mail from a local guy, who lowballed me like a mf'er (I'm willing to negotiate, but don't insult my intelligence by offering me a third of my asking price thinking that's a good deal). Another dude made me an offer I was willing to take, I e-mailed him, texted him, left him a voicemail, and like a day later he e-mails me back and tells me he bought another amp earlier that same day.

Craigslist is full of loonies.

Congrats on the truck. I know the tuner was a great deal and would still love to have it but I figure I'll stumble across another one some where. I seen Quintins reply and remember the guy emailed me back after I told him no thanks on the tuner and said he didn't need the money any how. Heck I didn't even ask him to come down on the price, I was ready to ship him some money and an empty box with return shipping in it for 150 bucks for an Edge.

I have not tryed to sell anything on it and probably will not try, I don't tolerate how should I put this SLOW people very well. The fire in my the little hent of red hair my grandfather gave me starts to show when someone screws with me.

I've sold a few things on Craigslist with moderate success. My problem is people that say they are interested, make an appointment to come out and check out the item, and then never show up. I just got a call last week from a guy that was asking about something I had posted in December and had since sold and removed from the site

that sucks about the tuner man, what a ****

I have bought some old Corian counter tops ( 2 for benches, and 1 was to replace a 70's green top at my parents house ).

I had good luck with all 3 purchases.

I only deal local, a friend replied to an ad for Kawi Mule, that was listed as in IL, but his reply stated the Mule was in MT, and he would ship it.
- Don't know why he listed it in IL, if it was 1500 miles away.

I bought my F250 on craigslist. I wouldn't buy anything you can't go physically look at.

If you ever buy any thing make sure that it works properly. Have vehicles inspected completely by a mechanic. 150 bucks is worth the peace of mind.

However I recently bought a cell phone from CL and it turned out to be on the lost or stolen list for Verizon. Couldnt get ahold of the guy since... So I have been burned on CL before and I know what you're talking about.
Should've taken it to a store first.

ive had only great experiences with craigslist minus one truck scam when they first started.

sold and bought tons of truck parts on there as well as other things like my old cell phone. i only do phone or text contact now really and never leave an email because of all the scammers.

just have to be careful and look at everything before you buy it

craigs list is like anything, you've got to understand the economy, and don't ask a million dollars for a piece of crap, ask fair prices (reality fair, don't a million dollars for a piece of crap and you won't get low balled constantly)

It seems to me like everyone on Craigslist is looking for the deal of the century. I hate trying sell anything there. If I'm going to end up giving it away, I have friends and relatives.

I don't mind paying a fair price for something but I hate being screwed with. But hey isn't craigslist just on online yard sale for us poor guys. I think I just figured out my problems with craigslist, I hate yard sales. There is not a whole lot of another mans trash that I find as my treasure.

I love craigslist, both buying and selling. Yeah I've come across a fair bit of spam and scams but the deals I've gotten make it so worth it. Going to pick up something off of it tonight actually.
