That followed an earlier program begun in 2005 that grouped automotive components into categories and tried to lower costs on each one.

Truly earth shattering news. (Yawn) I'm sure Ford never used similar tactics and ended up with things like the brakes on my 2005 F-150, or the Solenoid that controls the front hubs, or the front wheel bearings, or the IWEs, or the .... People who live in glass houses ...
