I'd rather use damn oil.....it's there......****in use that ****! Libs are ruining this country/world, but hell ****in far...if we can just save one tree/animal! They are all for spending money to research fuel alternatives, but won't let us do any good for ourselves by drilling here/lower prices/saved money in the mean time. So we are going father and farther into debt, so now we gotta spread the wealth around, thats bull****. Their goal is to devalue our dollar so we can go to a one world currency.....then you know what might happen, just saying it's possible!

They are in International waters, does not matter if you think it is close, it is not the US's waters.
Still have not found anything that says they are 10 miles into International waters from the coast of FL. Found that they are off the coast of Cuba. Think this was tossed in with the "they are doing more than drilling for oil" type comments ( meant to instigate something, don't know what ).

Don't forget to have the same concern for France and Canada. This is something I keep pointing out, yet nobody will have the same hate towards France and Canada for doing the same thing. Why would that be ?

Have yet to see anyone be concerned about China's lack of "environmental laws" about any other international waters they are drilling in. Guess that is the NIMB'y mentality.

If they are not drilling them in US waters, the oil reserves do not "belong" to the US. This seems to be lost on as many, as the lack of comments about France and Canada.
The US has let the reserves lay there, ripe for the picking by France, Canada and China.

First of all, the "U.S." doesn't drill off-shore. It's oil companies and most of them are multi-national.

Secondly, they follow the same rules everyone else does when they are in international waters.

Sometimes I think conservatives are naturally unhappy.

Ever notice how many scapegoats conservatives have? If you listen to their unhappy whining you would get the impression that they are the only rightous ones in the world and everyone else is screwing it up for them. They're always looking to blame someone else for their problems and lack of a fulfilling life. Always angry at the world and complaining instead of working together to make it better.

I really can't tell what you meant there, but Algeathol is the key to getting out from under the "foreign oil boot", so to say.

Of course we can always just run the world out of oil, then do something, but a lot of people don't want to leave that burden on the next generation (a topic that conservatives always try and play when it comes to debt). It also doesn't mean that everyone will be driving econobox's either. Cars just have to be retrofitted to run on it properly, like increased compression or advanced timing. You make more power, better mileage, and less emissions, and a lower price for it!

It's not a political problem, it's a problem that everyone will run into down the road, when fuel runs for $10 a gallon. It might not be for another 100 years, but natural oil will run out one day, and I don't think that generation should have to slam into a brick wall and make a frantic scramble for a solution.
