Who is better, Dish Network or Direct TV

I'm getting fed up with my cable tv, ever since we upgraded to HDTV our picture quality has gotten worse. In my city we have two cable companies to choose from and I already have the better of the two. If they can't find the cause of our video break-up soon I'm switching to sat tv, I just don't know who is better. It's going to cost me more a month to make the switch but it its worth it, I'll jump.

I'm more interested in picture quality and sevice quality, if anyone has any experience with either of these two companies, lets hear it good or bad.

I've had Dish for 11 years now and love it. My parents had Direct and was always complaining about the service. So, they switch to Dish and love it. I think the picture is better with Dish also.

Just went to Dish about a month ago, so far im loving it!! Directv laughed at me when I told them all I was getting from Dish and wanted to price match. So I shut the door on Directv. Dish has been awesome man, I enjoy it and will keep it.

I've got DirecTV and have no problems or complaints. They have the most HD channels (from what I hear) and the picture quality is amazing.

I have a superb package from Dish Network right now. It would almost cost me double with Direct or 1.5x with cable.

Dish will work with you big time to keep you as a customer.

I used to have dsl them when I moved to this house I'm too far from the DSLAM to get the higher speed dsl, I can only get a max of 3 Mbit down. I currently have 8 Mbit from cable and I can bump up to 16 Mbit if I wanted.

Same here. I've been a Directv customer since 2000. I've had STELLAR customer service with the couple of issues that I've had over the years. Moving from my old house to this one was SIMPLE and didn't cost me a penny.

Dish is an option for me but, I've never explored it... NFL Sunday Ticket is awesome.

Lastly, they recognize me as a long time customer and have gone out of their way to keep me happy -- free programming on a couple of occasions as well as complementary 'credits'.

Two big thumbs up for Directv from me.

We had nothing but bad experiences with Dish network. Directv is hands down better at everything in our experience.
