crazy snow in MD

well, i really didnt think that we were going to get this much snow, but it's really coming down. and it's not supposed to stop until tonight, lol. i dont have any pics yet, but when i go out to try to dig out my truck, ill take some pics. looking out my window, it looks like it already up to my bumper (my truck is stock height). supposedly the weather is reporting that there is about 21-24 already fallen. and they are calling for about 30ish or so.

there isnt really any point to this thread, lol. i guess im just bored already from being inside. oh well, pics to follow soon.

ok. so in about 2 hours, the path i dug out for my dog is now starting to get covered over.

here's the view of my deck....blew over some of the chairs.

ha, and the neighbor that parked on the street (snow emergency route)

now notice the mail box (to the left of the post)....you also have to factor in snow drifts.

I live in Mount Airy, about 15 miles from Frederick. Believe me this is unusual for this area. This one may have tied or broken the record for the most snowfall in a single storm. If it hasn't, it came close.
I do have a snow blower, a single stage, and this time I wish I had the biggest two stage walk behind I could buy. My single stage, A Toro Snow Commander, has been great the years I have had it, but it was having a very tough time doing this. Snow was over the top of the deck, and at times higher than the chute. Just go forward and back up and repeat, again and again. It can easily handle 12" at one shot, but was overwhelmed by the time I was able to start removing the snow.

Some pics in my gallery.

We haven' had any of that snow here, keeps missing us, it's depressing. I'm going to have to move if this keeps up lol.

Whats the apartment rental market like that way? The kid is stressed about getting a place I looked at Craigs list and the Fredrick area looks ok. He's actually being transferred to Camp David. How close is that to Fredrick? cant find it on Google earth.

I envy you. We only got 4 inches of snow here, but it is an easier amount to plow vs. 20-30 inches.

Sorry, can't help you there, I have rented in 30 years. Camp David is about 15 miles north of Frederick, Near Thurmont, MD. Try google maps. Just put in Camp David, it will show. It is in Catoctin Mountain State Park.
