31" in Pasadena today, and my back confirms it!

Took me 2+ hours (with supervision from my lab Maverick) to shovel my driveway, which is about 3 car lengths long. I was definitely wishing I had a snow blower today.

The deck has some nice drifts on it.

Big snow drift on the back corner of my roof. Not sure if I can do much about clearing that off.

you know the sad thing is, i bought a snow blower right when i moved into this house. havent used it since. well, i tried starting it in the december storm & of course it wouldnt start. i dropped it off at my parents to see if my dad could mess with it while i was at work, but he couldnt get it started either. i could have used it. that thing is freakin huge. 3 forward, 2 reverse gears, headlight. definitely an overkill for what we normally have here. sucks that i couldnt get it running. but, if i can get it running i still may be able to use it. i just got half my driveway clear. still have to do the sidewalks & dig out the other 2 cars.

I'm so glad it's not us this year! Last year we had over 8 feet of snow, the year before we had over 12 feet! This year...about a foot and a half...I'm loving the break!

Northeastern Washington, near Spokane. Here is our house 2 years ago. We got 12 feet total for the season. It sucked, by the end of winter we ran out of places to put the crap and we have 12 acres!!

Our driveway, the same winter:

Edited to add another picture. This one is from last winter. We only had 8 feet last year. These are our dogs sitting on the path that we clear up to the treeline so they can get out of the driveway to go potty:

Why will it no snow in the midwest already? It's February and has only snowed 2 inches in the last 45 days. This is just getting stupid at this point.

I finally got a plow truck and now it won't snow at all...

In looking at some of the pictures I've seen from this storm, I'd be a little worried about the snow loads on a lot of those decks and out buildings.

Especially the summer weekend "Case-Of-Beer-And-Do-It-Yourself" specials.....

ebxgsxr: we got about 18-24 inches, some parts got up around 28. I'm from New England so it's not a huge issue, but these people have no clue so it just makes it worse. I tried for days to find a snow blower but no one has them.

I agree! Whenever we get snow one of the first things that gets done is the deck gets shoveled. We only shovel roofs if it gets too deep, it's usually not a problem but we have had to do it a few times in the last couple of years. Last winter we got about 3 feet in the span of a couple of days. Took a lot of people by surprise and there were a lot of damaged roofs and collapsed carports in the area. It may look light and fluffy but it can be pretty heavy!
