New 5.0

I was just wondering what everyones thoughts are to the new coyote 5.0 that is supposed to be in 2011 f 150? What I read is it is supposed to replace both 4.6 and 5.4 but cant see how or why they would replace both with one engine.

The 6.2 is to replace the 5.4 and the 5.0 is to replace the 4.6. From what I've seen on both engines, they should both blow all competition out of the water!

Is it official? I saw a post the other day saying they changed their mind on the 6.2.

there is no definate answer if either the 5.0 or the 6.2 are going into the regular F150. The 6.2, 5.0, 3.5 V6 ecoboost, and 3.7 V6 are all rumored to be comming in the F150. But noone will know for sure untill we see a press release from Ford.

I only read that the 6.2l is for sure going into the Raptor. They never mentioned anything about the 6.2l going into the regular lineup - really frustrating that they keep pushing all this back when their motors seem to be so far behind the competition...I say seem because they do still get the job done better than any other full size truck in terms of towing capability. But that has more to do with the frame strength and suspension setup.

Yea I do agree with the frame and suspension setup. Ford definitely has that down.

back where I'm from all the police cars, firetrucks and ambulances were Fords because of the frames were the strongest.

the 6.2L will be the new base engine in the SuperDuty line up, starting Winter 2010, IIRC.

I read that over Christmas in a Superduty brochure while waiting for an oil change.

Yeah I've read that (but did forget about it)...I was talking about the 6.2l being in F150's except for the Raptor - it hasn't been confirmed yet.
