Calling out Chip FOOSE

yes you read this right. a buddy of mine that i know owns his own trans shop and is calling out chip foose. for a buget project 10G on a 2000+ car. we have no word back from chip or if he has even seen it but my buddy laghed and said "Chip couldnt even make a sketch for under 10G's let alone a car!!"

Here is the site and his blog is in the frist post. we need this to get lots of press so chip foose will see it and take the challenge!

http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chr...OD7LREJMQJMQIL

my buddy at the trans shop has built some sweet cars in the past....on a buget unlike Mr foose. i really hope this happens because i will hopfully get to work on this project car and be a part of the "Dream team"....i hope.

I was waiting for someone to "overhaul" my car for me, of course, never happened because I live outside California but even still, I think Foose coulda built my car for cheaper than I paid- Haha, kidding but not by much.

He's good though, just his stuff is for people with dough. It's almost not his or Trepanier's style to build budget anything, it's what they invision and let the money flow. Budget building is a Car Craft idea. You would be paying for HIS style on YOUR car. I like the idea of seeing what his take on a budget build would be though- interesting. He'll be at COBO Hall for Autorama, go talk to him there.

I'm sure Chip's time is likely worth more than $10,000 a day, so if you figure that into the cost equation, whatever he does will have to be limited to slapping some new hubcaps and a fart-can muffler on a 2004 Corolla S.......

Millionaires don't care for budgets and they don't care for people that need to have them either. I would expect Chip to carry on not knowing and not giving a rats a** about your buddy and his challenge.

well that just shows Mr. foose cant beat the every day true working man. yes i know foose has worked to get what he earned but why not see him go back to his roots??? im sure before he built these crazy cars he built his fair share of buget cars.

Thank you for letting me know he is going to be at COBO i will tell my buddy at the trans shop this.

No idea on why the 2000+ limit but ive heard ideas on what the "Dream team" might be building haha all i gotta say to foose is...good luck!

For the same reason I don't want to go back to my $5.15 per hour college job and eat Ramen Noodles for dinner -- because it sucked!

Not really a challenge unless he would give Chip a good amount of time to plan, and price check as well, because it sounds like your buddy has already planned out a car exactly, and figured out how much it would cost to build it. So he throws a challenge out after he has done all the research, planning, and price checking. Not really a fair challenge. I bet your buddy wouldn't act so tough if Chip came back and said he would do it, but it had to be a 1960-1970 car, and you only have 1-2 weeks. Heck, any year model besides what your buddy has said.

Why is it that when the majority of people get money they turn into something other than what they were? i've never understood this, but than agian I've never had money.

So whats the diffrence between building a 2002 Mustang GT on a 10K budget in say a month, than building a 1972 GTO with unlimited budget and 7 days? I would think as connected as Foose is he could knock out a 10K project in no time. I mean on Overhaul he goes from crap to BAM in "7 days".

thank you southernskrew. my buddy im sure would let foose have time to find prices and a car and all that not like he has his build and is gonna say ok you got 3 days to do yours. no i have no idea the dead line in this.

yes a late model mustang would move pretty good.

yeah on overhauling they got from a rusty pile of crap to a better than new car with a 500HP motor in less than 7 days. i think he can do a buget build....
