Another Deer Cam Pic.

This one was taken within about 5 miles of my house.
I thought it was worth posting.

I've never seen one that big before, that's why I thought I'd post it. I've only seen four or five in the wild, but they were only about half that size.
The Pic actually belongs to a friend of mine.

He is a nice one. I want a full body mount of a bobcat. The unfortunate thing is that I haven't seen one that I could shoot. If one does cross my path it s game on! This might be a good thing since I am about to drop a whole lot of $$$ at the taxidermist here in a month or so. My crate is about to ship from Africa.

That almolst looks like a lepord, with the spots.

We have nothing like that around here. There is a myth that there was black panther sitings around this area. Also there has been myths of people hearing bobcats or a loud sharp scream from the woods that was really irry sounding. IDK if I believe any of it. A buddy of mine swears up and down (pretty dedicated bird (mostly duck), and deer hunts a little says he's seen a large cat object one night when he was hunting mine property. I mean when he tells it he says it complete straight up and doesn't crack a smile and repeatedly swears that he say something. About the most rare things caught around here is a 97 pound rattlesnake was caught a few years ago, and the rumor was that there was a boa constrictor or anacanda (can't remember which one) was caught in the river about 30 miles up the road down by where the power plant discharges. Idk about that since I don't ever really remember seeing it in the paper or hearing too much about it, but the rattlesnake, they got a picture. I doubted it was 97 pounds since some dude was holding it one armed on one of those snake pole things, but none the less it was a huge azz snake!

In September I went to South Africa for two weeks on a safari. We stayed about two miles from the Botswana border. I shot a Kudu and Impala with my bow and borrowed a .30-06 to take a Gemsbok on the last day. Here are some pics.

Impala

Big kitty.

Wookie, I'd never heard of a Gemsbok before, but when I saw it...damn. I guess here in NM we have a very similar/related animal, the Oryx. Some dipcrap decided it'd be awesome to bring them over, and now they're everywhere. I want to get a tag and go knock on down. Tasty.

Oryx = Gemsbok and they do taste good. They are one very tough animal to kill. You must take out both lungs or they will not die for weeks. They are a desert animal and can go weeks without water. To give you an idea how tough they are I shot that one and shattered one shoulder and put a large hole through the top of his heart both of the lungs were nicked. The PH said is was a near perfect shot. The animal still ran for 100+ yards and was not dead when we found it. Also, do not approach a wounded one. They are known to lie there playing dead only to gore someone with their horns.
