Avast is very good but it does slow the computer down just a little bit but nothing like norton and mcafee

OK I am up for some new antivirus software,as my PC Tools is about to run out.Any recommendations or should I just stay with what I got.Am not that happy with PC Tools as I just had to do a reload due to it crashing.Thanks Roger

Same here, going on a couple years now. Just make sure you put it in silent/gaming mode.

FYI. If you bank with Bank of America they offer McAfee free for 12months, details are on there website.

I've been using Kaspersky for about 18 months.

Very satisfied. I think you can get a 3 month free trial.

Used to use AVG free version, but then my wife got us infected and had to reformat the hard drive. Have used McAfee and Norton before. Never again.

Same, had issues with avg free edition, mcafee and norton. So far, 20 months or so with avast and no issues. My wife loves to click on things that say "earn $1000 a week from home" or " Your computer is infected with a virus, click here to fix"

That's the one that got my wife, lol. She said it popped up when she was clicking a link to see who got eliminated on Dancing With the Stars.
