Does that mean that GM will come back out with the 5.7L 350???

Ford should have never stopped with the 5.0 and GM shouldn't have shelved the 5.7L.

That Stang is SWEET!!!! ---DirtySCREW

The Bullitt is on eBay and I've already made a few calls to my buddies at the local Ford dealerships. The FX4 will be traded in on this new 5.0 if I can keep my payments where they are now... I had already placed an order for the 2010 GT this past summer, but held off when I heard this new 5.0 was coming out.

For those that are asking questions about the motor, it's an aluminum 32V DOHC TiVCT. At 412hp (if that is confirmed by Ford tomorrow), it will only be 14hp less than an SS... The Mustang's lighter curb weight will more than make up for that, I think...

not to mention that is a stock engine. mustangs were made to be modified. an intake, tune, supercharger and exhaust will have it knocking on 600s door no problem

The car itself should be unveiled at Detroit, but the official release of information should take place tomorrow. If you look at most of the photos of the motor that have been released, er, leaked, they were marked as embargoed until Dec 28. Most folks in the Mustang community are expecting to see a press release tomorrow... Order banks open on Jan 18 for the 2011 models.

The rumors I've seen have said it will. The 5.0 will replace the 4.6 in the Mustang and F150 lines. Not sure about the other 4.6's that are out there across the Ford family, though...

their is rumors of both the 5.0 and 6.2. also the 3.5 ecoboost is pretty much guaranteed becaue the plan to have an ecoboost available on 90% of the fleet by 2013.

I wonder if the eco boost will have enough low end grunt to do any real work though. Its a super nice engine in the cars, but even then people complain about no power on the low end side of the engine.

Ive personaly drove an SHO and i can tell you there is NO lack of power anywhere. It pulls hard through the whole RPM range PLUS the ecoboost is very de-tuned in the AWD cars for transmission reliability. Their is tuned 3.5 ecoboosts out there making 550 hp already.
