There are just as many apps for the blackberry and android as there is the iphone, sorry that's just how it is. And you are paying 150 for way less plan than I'm paying 130 for.

I just don't believe that. If you can show me where to get ShralpTide for a BB I'll be more willing, but from what I've heard/seen, the iPhone has more, and better apps.

I searched for BlackBerry Tide Chart Apps and found only one. Problem is it doesn't access the internet and download actual conditions, it predicts based on a table of data in the program. It also sells for $9.99. Good thing ShralpTide is free and gives real time data from monitoring buoys, including those used by the US Coast Guard.

Also looking around appworld.blackberry.com there appears to be only 4,064 apps available (~1500 are games or references/ebooks) and of all those 4,064 apps, only 959 are free. What was the last count for iPhones, 117,000+ approved apps?

Now why do you have to go and say stuff like that? Does it make you feel better about what you have? It doesn't bother me one bit. I get everything I need with my plan and then some. If I pay $20 a month more than you, I don't really care, it isn't going to break my bank account.

Edited to add: I went to Verizonwireless.com to see what a plan for 2 Droids would be. They're telling me for the same plan I'm getting with AT&T, it would cost me $169.93, more than $20/mo than I'm paying now.

First I wasn't talking to you about price or anything else, we have had a nice discussion. 06 came in and called me a liar and I don't appreciate that, there are several places to get apps u looked at 1 crackberry has a ton also. He brought up how the iphone didn't cost more than a bberry or android, when it is obvious it does.

I'm just saying, and 06 and I have the same plans.

I looked at crackberry and saw something there that said 700 apps available. I can't get the actual site to load though. Still, a far cry from the 117,000+ apps available on iTunes.

I think it all goes back to what you use it for. For personal use, I don't think anything beats an iPhone right now. For business, I'd go with a BlackBerry.

Still, 3363 vs 117,000+. I don't think you can say that other smartphones have all the same apps as the iPhone.

How many of those 3363 are free?

Do you understand that is just apps from crackberry, there are about 3 other app stores plus a ton of individual apps. Plus that's not all the apps from crackberry.

Sure. Hopefully you realize that 3,000 or even 30,000 is still not 117,000.

How many are free? I'm just curious.

I don't know alot about tides because I am in the northern part of Texas, but those 2 took me about 2 minutes on google to find.
As far as apps, iphone has a ton of bs apps like soundboards and other pretty much usless apps, its cool that they have them but that really drives up the app count. Apps that will actually be used like the tide app and others like it will be available for the iphone and the blackberry. Its really hard to get an acurate count on how many apps are available for the blackberry because there are so many versions and they are available from tons of different places.

I just switched from AT&T to Sprint. 4 line family plan. With AT&T my 4 lines, with data on only 2 lines (1 iPhone data and 1 original iPhone data), and family texting, 700 minutes, night & weekends after 9pm, cost $170. With Sprint I have 4 HTC Heroes (which in my opinion is as good or better than the iPhone), 1500 minutes, unlimited data-texting, NFL Mobile Live Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, Any Mobile Anytime, nights and weekends after 7pm all for $170. A 4-iPhone family plan with unlimited texting with AT&T would cost $240 with no navigation and n/w after 9pm. That's a huge difference for basically the same service. I had Sprint years ago and had no problems. Switched to AT&T for the iPhone because noone had anything comperable. Now everyone does so buh bye AT&T. If you think you have to have 200,000 apps to play with, then by all means, stick with your premium-priced iPhone data.

That 117,000 isn't even including the apps that are on Cydia either. Lol I don't see how 4000 apps + 3000 apps plus a few other sites equals anywhere near 100,000 but maybe my math is just wrong.

And the monthly charge is almost identical for service between 2 iPhones on ATT and 2 Blackberry Storm 2s on Verizon with 700 minutes a month. Except Verizon doesn't offer unlimited text messaging and you have to pay extra for visual voicemail, they're both around $175 before tax and govt fees.

Argue all you want, I could care less. I'm very happy with what I chose and thats all that matters.
