From the mouth of babes...
Now it's fixed.
Yeah the sales guy was being a jerk. On what should have been the 3rd happiest day of your life (Having ur daughter, and buying ur f150 then buying 2 GLOCKs in one day) he just wants to be a *****. Let me guess, was it one of those stores where all the sales guys think they are a member of special forces?
Dont worry about it. I bought a G22 RTF in May and I love it. and I love the fact I have been able to consistently find "cheap" .40 ammo

Was it brand new? That was a great deal! Mine was $510 OTD and it was considered a steal for around here.
That being said, in August I bought a G26 brand new with night sites for $340 OTD. Don't think Ill get rid of that one.

No offense, but I would not use the word 'Toy' in any way that would relate to a gun store or a real gun with little ones. Nor would I even mention I was buying a gun to a tyke that little. Maybe wait til she's 4 so she can understand.
It's too crazy these days. I don't know if she goes to daycare or pre-school or anything like that, but all it takes is her to say "daddy has guns! daddy got me a gun!" and next thing you know the State Child Protective Services is knocking at your door.
Kudos on the new Glocks, though !
When my kids ask about my guns, I tell them I have them to shoot bears, or if a Bad Guy tries to hurt our family. I also tell them to never talk about guns to anyone outside the house.

x2 and i was trusted enough that by age 7-8 I was allowed to roam all over our land by myself with my 22.
People are stupid, I see nothing wrong with what you said you made a joke and its your daughter, If you want to give her a gun at a young age(would not recommend a glock at 3) that is your business.

I had a 30-06 by time I was 3!! Oh wait....no I didn't.
I did have a BB gun though and my dad would give me beer cans to go set up and shoot at. Wonder what the guy would have to say about that?
I don't think you did anything wrong, it was nothing but a joke, people need to get over it and not be so serious about stuff. I mean even if you did buy it for her, why would you tell him about it? I think that'd be a hint right there you were kidding. I wouldn't worry about it but maybe tell your daughter not to say anything about the guns just incase she does tell someone you "bought her" a gun.

My son got his first bb gun when he was 2. His first .22 when he was 5 and he's been getting a gun every year for Christmas since then. He has never had to wonder what guns were about and wait til I'm gone to go explore one. He is 14 now and can outshoot 90% of the guys on my dept. He can breakdown and clean any gun of any kind and knows more about them than most armorers.
and my wife can drive nails with a .38 snubnose I gave her. Damn, I love her.

7-8 I was shooting skeet and trap with a 20 gauge...
I would have told the gun store clerk to "**** off".
My daughter was shooting my single 6 (with my help) by 5 and could easily shoot a man sized target with pretty good accuracy by 6. No flinching either.
This is her at 16 at a friends house. She has her own gun now, which is a rossi .22 target gun.
From the beginning she knows the rules.
1. All guns are loaded
2. Point only in a safe direction
3. Never assume when someone hands you a gun that says it's unloaded until you look for yourself.--see #1.
I always let her see the guns anytime she wanted. For a girl thats not very often. But she always knew that she could.
Now she knows where they are, and if she were to be home alone, lookout intruders you can see from the pic below don't get in her sights!
Start em young, that's my motto.
