Just came back to the forums after months of not reading anything here. To answer you question after some back-reading....GOD YES!!!
What is the over/under on him running into a house because his brakes failed? I'm in for 14 days.

Argh... never, ever, ever, carry your SS id with you! Keep a copy of it.
A DL is sufficient in this day and age.
Also, never keep cash, and try not to even carry a debit card with you. Just use the CC as your main source of funding -- plus it looks even better on your credit.
Plus, I'm not buying the $50k limit on the CC.

Im with Chuck (manualF150) on this one, dont EVER carry your SSC and your DL in the same wallet unless you are needing both for a job application or something like that. then go straight home and put the SSC somewhere safe

I also want to advise you of some help here Raptor... if you consistantly use your CC that you can get frequent flyer points or deductions, I would use it like my bank card to be honest. But make sure you pay it off each month and keep a record of how much you spend so you treat it like a debit card persay. Not only do you get free miles/points, but you can get free stuff. Nothing's better than free when you spend your own money.
Secondly, if you bought something and the retailer doesn't want to return it, all you have to do is call the CC hotline and tell them to stop payment! You will find yourself saving some anguishment dealing with nasty retailers.
