Tumba, I agree, and it's not sappy. I've noticed the same trend. Some people I know that are flying under the radar with their...immaturity (don't know the right word) are the ones that grew up in a nice house with a large family.

A kid could have 49 parents and still get bad parenting, and have no parents and have good parenting. He knows what we meant.

Yep. I could have worded it better. Underage drinking is sometimes a result of bad parenting. It is more a result of the choices of the underage drinker. Even a toddler can say "no".

It's funny you mention that. I saw a special on Straight Edge the other night that was saying how they are becoming more gang-like in certain areas.

Basically several occurrences in larger cities. Large group = gang mentality. They got into several serious fights and some of the more aggressive groups would go around beating people who drank and did drugs. Tried to run them out of town. They'd harass the drug dealers.

I wish the cops had caught me for underage drinking.
It turns out getting away with it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

ie-dvd players behind car seats to keep them occupied instead of showing them attention, living beyond their means [having both members work to jobs to pay for all their luxuries while kids are in daycare because wife HAS to work], etc....

dvd players on backs of seats-keep the child occupied instead of devoting some time and attention- same as buying video game system andallowing kid tom spend time behind hrs on end, dumping kids off at daycare-maybe the parents should have stopped at 2 instead of keep having them when they couldn't afford to feed two more mouths,

Your extremely broad generalization was that a lack of parenting leads to underage drinking.
