It is a Student Bonfire. It is off campus and not campus affiliated. But the tradition lives on. And the wood is doused in Jet Fuel and torches are tossed on it. Lol. Its sweet.

sounds like fun yeah i love pullin people out with my truck, just such a good feeling. i love mudding too. my truck with the 38's has only let me down once so far out of many times, and i wasn't driving that time so i blame it on that.

Yeah most of the time is was the driver, lol. They hit a slick spot and would stop and then just dig themselves in. Alot of help was with the tires. All the other vehicles would hit the ruts of the other stuck trucks and would become stuck in those. With my wide tires I would kinda cruise over them and didnt have a problem. Then again I actually had an idea of how to drive through the mud though, lol.

Too bad you guys didn't win, the one game a year I want the Aggies to win... I absolutely hate UT and wanted bad to see them knocked off!! Next year I bet they suck since there stuck up quarterback will be gone (I have several non-appropriate names for him). It also drives me crazy everyone is on the UT bandwagon; its one thing if you went to a school and are a hardcore fan/alumni. Its another thing (the bandwagon) when your a hardcore fan of the winning team, never went there, don't know the traditions of the school, etc.... I could go on and on..

Bonfire is a cool deal, my cousin built the bonfire from 95-99, and my other cousin was there building it when it fell luckily he was not near it when it came down. You guys can let that fire burn and when your done with it let the boys at TEEX have some night burn training fun with it

That night was a blast. Didn't get stuck once even with 2wd, and stopped to help out some folks in a Honda Civic who didn't have a chance getting out of where they were parked. As was said before, it really came down to whether or not you knew how to drive in those conditions. I passed a 4X4 Suburban on the way in that was hopelessly stuck.

Here's a cool picture I took from my phone a few minutes after the lighting.

yea it was a good game and i was very proud of our performance. showed weakness of texas being we had over 500 yrds on basically the #1 D in FBS and jj had a great game. just two mistakes, the int and the missed fg.

i despise the way the media looks at colt and tebow and how it makes them seem like gods when colt wont even go in the first round.

theres no putting bonfire out. it goes out when it goes out haha

Yeap, I hate both those guys. I hate to say it but I was glad when bradford got knocked out for OU... Its a sorry deal when a coach builds a team on the basis of their quarterback, and when the quarterback can't play they suck. Tech is no different really Leach really relies heavily on Potts (who sucks), I think that Tech and ATM don't build a program on the back of their quarterbacks like UT and OU do. Thankfully our backup QB shefield can play way better than "nick" potts..

I have heard a lot about Johnson for ATM and how he came from nothing, and has great character as well as being an awesome player.

You guys really need the old bonfire back, that thing was humongous! I work with a guy that recently graduated and he was telling me a girl ran for class president on the basis that she would fight to bring back the bonfire. Long story short he said there is really no way to get it back although everyone supported her cause, and she ended up losing out.

yea jj has had a good yr, just needs to learn to throw it away sometimes just like big ben. plus it helps to have some great targets like tannehill, fuller and uzoma (not gonna try and spell last name haha) looks good for next yr since hes basically the only retuning starter in the south and only loosing jamie mccoy and 2 oline men this yr on O.

this yr was very big for bonfire. the lawsuit from 99 is over and there is talk of the return to campus. itll all depend on who the next president of the university is. alot of people want it back in the university as well as grads and current students. my numerical methods prof was the president when it collapsed and resigned after since he didnt want to be forced to get rid of bonfire

edit: on-campus bonfire was huge, off-campus however is a different design due to the way the 99 stack fell and therefore its height is limited by the height of the trees that were allowed to cut and the height of center pole.
