Hi shorse,

I'm about 2 hours north of Syracuse on the Canadian side and we get milk in the bags, as well as the cartons.

The National Milk Counsel of Canada performed an in-depth study and found that people out west wern't smart enough to take the milk out of the bag, and place the bag into the holder, and then get the scissors to put a little cut in it so it would pour.

The study determined there were too many steps involved for "Westerners" to successfully figure out all the steps; and as a result they only get their milk in cartons. (much easier for them)

Darn it: that's it! If Glenn Beck or Hannity said it, it is absolute! No questions asked; debate over. I would rather hear about what it is like from somebody who knows about it rather than somebody who theorizes about it...I find it interesting that people still do not realize that there are other ways to run a country other than our way---and those other ways are pretty successful.

The only bad thing minutely negative that I have to say about the land up north is that it is darn hard to get beer---heck, here in Ohio we can get beer at supermarkets, drug stores, gas stations (not my idea of a smart decision), just about everywhere...

We were up in the Ontario Province and I had to go to a beer store to buy the stuff...took me a while to find one. Darn grocery stores clerks and the lot had a good laugh and looked at me funny...and could tell where I was from!

haha trust me we dont like that one either. When I go out for groceries I have to make at least 2 stops because of the vodka/beer run.

Dont get me wrong, I wish we did have some stuff the US did. Like the patriotism is something I wish more Canadians had for their country. I wish we stood up for the rights of our citizens instead of bending them to suit everyone. Example being there was a guy in Ontario who wanted to wear a turbin but ride a motorbike and the law up here is you HAVE to wear a helmet to ride a bike. Thank god he lost the legal battle but some of us held our breath.

I also wish our cities had the history that your places do, I cant wait to travel to washington. Besides the smithsonian and the history of that place, I cant wait to experience it.

Overall no where in the world is perfect because no two humans will see things identically.

I remember seeing on the news about how they are allowing people to wear turbans in the rcmp because of their religion..

I will say one thing that was acknowledged that has not been dicussed by cosworth. About "hidden" taxes. We do have hidden taxes in tobacco, gas, and alcohol. If you want a pack of smokes you are looking at ~$12.50 for only one pack of cigarettes. cheapest you can get a dozen brand name beer (around here anyway) $21.25. Gas I am paying anyway $104.9 cents per litre. Just under $4.00 a gallon. The difference the Americans pay compared to what we pay is all tax.

Actually good point, I did leave that out and that is a HUGE argument I have.

In Alberta we have a sin tax that taxes both cig's and beer exponentially. It costs me about $11.50 for a pack of smokes and $25.00 for a pack of 12 beer.

That is a big let down, but lets hope it is temporary.

ain't gonna happen. Why do you think you don't have an overt Provincial sales tax? All of your consumption taxes are hidden...

I was wondering when someone was going to bring this up.....I have some good friend in Canada that enjoy the system, but I believe that they make enough money to not have to worry about anything.

First of all, it's not that I don't like Canada, I just think their system could be improved.

Secondly, it's not my opinion but it came straight from Hannity and Beck (and other truth-seekers) on Fox.

I do like Canada, I would like to visit soon, maybe for the olympics. I better get my passport ready because I hear they are pretty strict about who goes in/out of their country.

And no I dont personally know anyone who has died because of this 'system' you speak of. I only know of 3 people in my life who have died. My uncle was crushed by the semi he was unloading, a friend from school died in a car accident from drunk driving, and a girl I know killed herself because of depression.
Thanks for taking the time to look up those numbers. I checked them out and they look legit. I have sent them to Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity to see what they have to say. I just can't believe they would lie to me about people in Canada not getting the care the need to stay alive because they are stand up people who really care about the little guy. I'll let you know how they handle it.

I have a few options of which american channel I want to watch. I also get time shifting for free so I can watch shows from Detroit earlier at night then waiting till 10 when they come on.
So you do get Fox news. I didn't think your government would let them in considering how they are not afraid to report what's really going on. The libral networks down here are trying to get our government to shut them down but that's not going to happen (unless Obama gets involved) because we are founded on freedom. If more people watched Fox they would be better informed and Obama never would have got elected. But I don't want to get in a political discussion.

I'll let you know how Hannity and Beck answer my e-mail.
