I like how those two women are just standing their and look to be carrying on a normal conversation, not at all distracted by the incident taking place right behind them . It's tough for me to form an opinion based on that video. There are a lot of disrespectful, punk **** kids out there now a days. Part of me feels that the cop is just doing what that kids parents should have done years ago.. and as many times as needed to steer him right. But, that is not acceptable in this PC world we live in. I'm not an old timer by any means, (just turned 30 this week) but I fear for the direction our youth's generation is heading. My opinion could also be biased since I live in the DC\Baltimore metro area. Watching my local evening news would make you want to set a few of them straight yourself.

I have always been treated fairly by LEO's where ever I have been stopped and was given a butt chewing by one because I did something stupid and dangerous and deserved to get my butt chewed. I have a number of friends that I grew up with that are now County, City, and State police officers and never had a problem with any of them they also have a pretty thankless job if you ask me. You have to remember these guys are out protecting us and when they make a traffic stop or respond to a call they may not make it home to there loved ones. I have also learned if you come at them with an attitude it puts them on edge and they will come back at you with an attitude.

ChrisT - I am also from Murdermore. But, as a cop, you just cant go around kicking peoples **** just because they deserve it. Nor can you as anyone, especially an adult who knows better.

This kid may have deserved a good smack. But no one deserves to be shoved halfway across a hall into metal lockers. A lot of these kids who have emotional problems who are in these special classes are because their home life was and is horrible and their parents treat them like crap. I've worked with these kids before and see how their parents are. They could care less.

The last thing he needed was someone who he thought would help him instead attacks him.

This cop is a punk. No reason for that cop to do that unless someone was in danger, obviously there wasn't. The kid was just mouthing off and being a tool because he doesnt understand how to handle his emotions.

If I just walked up and pushed your wife, kid, sister, mom because she said something rude or because I thought they needed a good **** kicking.. would you idly stand by and think.. oh they desrved a good **** beating thank God that guy did it before I had too?

I understand your point of view for this particular scenario and I respect what you are saying. The majority of people will form an opinion based on what the media and a few seconds of film tell us. This kid clearly didn't deserve the beating based on what is described to us from the media. But, who knows what else he's done leading up to that one blow up to make that cop boil over.

My only point is I feel that most disciplinary systems\programs currently in place just flat out don't work. And maybe sometimes a lil foot in the **** isn't such a bad thing. As far as your question on how I'd feel personally about someone taking action against my family? Well, that's hypothetical to me. My mother went to catholic school, she did get a whoopin' with a ruler if she was out of line. Don't have any kids yet, but I guess I'd have to say that no kid of mine would be disrespectful enough to ever be in a situation like that.

Most of the kids in that school were there due to behavioral problems. I figure the kid probably had it coming. Maybe not for what he said to the Cop, but for past indiscretions where he went unpunished for his actions. No proof, just a feeling I get. In fact, there are actually quite a few people in this world that need a good butt kicking due to their actions.

I also said the Cop probably overreacted...

Do you not understand those problems are because of something wrong with them? Such as being abused, immaturity, or down right things like depression and psychiatric disorders. They are not capable of understanding situations like you or I and how to handle them.

My alcoholic step father beat the crap out of me all the time. When I was in middle schooled I was labeled "special needs" because I was always depressed and felt no one understood what was going on. Did I deserved to have my **** kicked again, because it was coming when I got home. I was never in any special classes, but I understand.

This wasn't some high school kid being an idiot, it was a disturbed kid being an idiot who just wanted someone to pay attention to him (just going about it the wrong way), two different things.

Enough with the bleeding heart, Corps. I think we all get where you stand on this subject.

I'm with the majority here, Cop shouldn't have done it, but we all know deep down that a lot of kids these days need a good old school lesson in respect.

Betcha this kid will think strongly next time he want's to give the authorities a hard time.

Bleeding heart? Because I used personal experience to back my opinion?

I bet who wont think next time, as he probably can't comprehend or understand what went down.

I've seen them speed with no where to go except to a store or a restaurant for food. A civilian would have definitely gotten pulled and ticketed.
To me, cops are people who were bullied in high school and wanted a job so they can get back at society.
Hell, I've dealt with some decent cops but there's just a SMALL percentage of them who are. Others are just power hungry bastards who I believe, again, because they have a badge and a gun they can do anything and are above the law.
I treat people with the utmost respect but when I don't get any, why should I give any??? That doesn't mean I'm going to be completely rude, but I also give what I get.

I really feel sorry for you. At first I thought you might be one of those idiots that believe cops are just trying to catch people ridin dirty. After your last post, it has become obvious that you have a warped view on society as a whole. Somewhere, someone has failed you. It's sad that you feel in order to give respect, you must recieve it. It's not all your fault. A large portion of America is that way, and that's why this country is becoming so horrible.

I don't know too much about South Carolina, but I'm pretty sure most of the Texas LEO's aren't people who were bullied in high school, looking for revenge.

So if you hate LEO's with a passion, what is your solution. Do you figure we would be better off with out them? Could you honestly say you don't want any officers of the law in your city? I'm just curious, statements like yours seem very ignorant to me. Maybe I'm just ignorant, I don't understand.
