Yes.

First vehicle in the line which set it all off was a chevy tahoe. The driver miossed turn on a down slope curve so he slammed on the brakes to make the turn. Followed behind the tahoe was a 2008 f150 which slammed on brakes and turned to the right missing the tahoe. Behind the f150 was the mustang which slammed into the f150. Of course, I then slammed into the mustang crushing it between two fiftys.

You can see in one pic the person on a back board. They were real farked up. When I got out of my truck and opened his drivers door they were screaming and I just stopped in shock. I couldnt believe I did that.

It was on a hill. So all 4 of us who have USAA share partial fault in all expenses. They investigation showed that the events made it hard to stop in time for any person and the leader in the pack was as much at fault as the rear person (me).

So all 4 of us shared expenses and fault. None of us were charged with any fines or tickets.

I'll edit gender for those who feel it's a huge deal. Like he or she or it

Legally speaking, you are not allowed to take pictures of an accident scene in which a patient or victim is seen in any of the photographs. Has something do to with patient privacy or privliges. As a volunteer I liked to document every wreck I responded to, but my Cheif made it clear if any picture I take has any part of a victim or patient in it, out the door I go. Just FYI, you COULD get sued. Not saying its likely, but this is America...

I'm not a lawyer nor do I claim to be one, the picture thing may not apply to HIM or most other people since it was in public and out in the open. As a healthcare provider, YOU may not be able to have people in your pics because you have the obligation to protect the patients. It's kinda messed up like how, even with prior EMT training and an expired license, I can't be sued for trying to help and messing up (good samaritan law), but you can get your pants sued off of you because you have a valid EMT license.

That is a NASTY lookin wreck! Your truck looks like it fared pretty well and the Mustang did its job protecting the driver.

You've got the Good Samaritan Law backwards. If I, as a trained currently licensed EMT render aid in good faith, I can't be held liable for civil damages. However if you as Joe Civilian, render aid, you could very well be held liable, seeing as how your Holiday Inn Express edumication won't do anyone any good

And the Tahoe driver didn't see any of this behind him, I'm sure.

It really pisses me off when people do that kind of stuff. About to miss your turn? Go down an extra exit instead of endangering lives. Glad you're okay. Hope the other guy comes out of it well.

This happened last year. I was just browsing through an old external hard drive of pictures.

Yeah, I hate it too. I know most people are going to say following too closely, but all of us were only doing about 30 mph. It just really wasn't enough time with a low speed and a car to a car and a half distance between all of us. Hence while none of us were charged with it.

I hate when people don't use a blinker and just slam on brakes and turn also.

As for patients rights, it doesn't show his or her face, name tags, or any identification.

Also, you could simply figure out who it was by running his plate from the bumper stuck to the front of my truck.

Yeah my truck came out well. My air bags didn't even deploy. Mustangs did of course. That car crumpled like sheeeet.

This is why I drive a truck and refuse even though gas is expensive to pick my daughter up in a car.

I barely felt impact.

I just feel sorry for the person in the mustang. Opening that door and hearing those screams. I know they were in pain getting whip lash from when they ran into the fifty in front and then me repacking the stang.

If we were going any faster, I think they person would be really f-ed up or dead.

Whoever on the scene came up with that crackhead explanation should be beaten with a rubber hose.

ETA - Yeah, I'm going with following too closely. Some or all of you.

At least everyone came away relatively unscathed. But I don't buy that "the events made it hard to stop in time for any person" deal.

This law protects a volunteer who comes to the aid of an injured or ill stranger from being sued for contributory negligence, as long as the volunteer aid-giver (the Good Samaritan) acted with reasonable care. So yes anyone still can be sued.
