I'm new to the hand gun ownership ranks, so I only have a Ruger GP 100 .357 Mag 4" barrel. Nice gun and I like the simplicity of a revolver.. I have a simple mind!

X2!!!

The simplicity and reliability of a revolver!!! I can't stress enough how much I like my airweight .38. I had a trigger job done by a local gun shop, and wow! Single action trigger is like a hair trigger on a riffle. Double action is twice as smooth.

I had a Fobus for my G22 once, and I hated it.

I would recommend shooting the Kel-Tec first if you haven't already. I bought one when I was in college cause of the size without shooting it and I absolutely hated the trigger on it.

I couldn't agree more with the "simplicity" of a revolver. I've also got a S&W Model 19 .357 Mag with a 4" barrel that I have an "open" carry holster for, but that one is usually in the Blazer since the seat holster doesn't work with those seats.

I'm planning on carrying a SW M&P compact 9mm, and will be looking for recommendations on carry method. I don't want to have to go buy new pants for an IWB holster, but that may be a necessity?

Look into a clipdraw...
http://www.clipdraw.com

I love it on my .38. Why carry more bulk and weight than you have to?

I don't like the idea of Clipdraws for things other than double action revolvers or semi autos with manual safeties.

Comp-Tac makes a lot of great holsters. I didn't buy any new pants, just a new belt, and I was good to go for IWB carry.

Crossbreed Supertuck - Best holster I have every owned.
I carry either a Kahr CW9 or CW 45 most of the time and occasionally a RIA (Rock Island Arms) 1911 Officers model.

All fit in the Supertuck nicely.

I'd have to try "bare carry" for a little while to see if I want the gun right up against me like that. Definitely the least weight/bulk solution I've seen.

From their web site:

"The ugliest, most comfortable holster you'll ever love!"

I REALLY like the "tuckability" of that holster! It looks like a lot of holster for my little M&P, but I called the company, and the "mini tuck" won't do it. Hmmmm.. more thinking to do.

Nice choice. I also have a XD .40 Sub-compact. After shooting it, I sold my Glock. One of the best, natural shooting subs I've ever shot.
A uncle mikes in the waistband holster works great for me.

The nice thing, IMHO, about the supertuck is that the pistol is not touching your skin, or undershirt so body sweat and oil does not get on the pistol but also that its comfortable, I know it does not look like it would be but after wearing it for a few minutes you can actually forget you have it on. Of course you need to have a little give in your pants for the holster to fit correctly. With my gut that's not an issue. If I am wearing 511's the cinch straps are adjustable enough to make it fit just right.
All in all I wish I had bought the Supertuck years ago, it would have saved me $$$ on inferior carry solutions.

I've got CCW's for both Utah and New Hampshire. That pretty much covers me for most States with Reciprocity. It's funny how I was able to get these permits issued to me by another country, but my own country won't allow us to carry.

....but if I was able to, I'd have my Beretta 96 compact .40S&W for concealed carry and my Glock M20 10mm for open carry.
