I saw a HUGE buck last night coming home from work!! He was standing on the edge of a corn field about 200 yards off the road. I slowed to look at him and he was just watching me. I thought about running him down in my Pontiac G5 but the ditch was pretty deep.

There were two big doe's with fawns less than a block from my house in town that scared the crap out of me this morning when I was leaving for work. I have tried to get bucks like that with my truck before but I cant get them to stand still when the turbo spools up for some reason.

Very nice. I have an old Marlin 30/30 lever action that I love and hunt with every year even though I have a 30/06 Browning BAR light weight I keep going back to the old Marlin. My next rifle will be another Marlin lever action in .45/70.

I also use a 20 year old .30/.30 winchester and there is no better gun for deer hunting at under 200 yards. It is tried and proven and now with the new ammo the range has improved 2 fold.
It is a light, small, accurate sumpuppy and with my nice scope on it it is truly one shot one kill. NOW i would love to use the .50 cal just one time and see just what happens but i like to eat what i kill and i fear there would be little left....
