Kriss Super V Anyone?
I really want a Kriss. From the first moment I saw one on Futureweapons to the new Modern Warfare 2. If it is what it claims to be (shoot a .45acp round accurately and continuously), then i want one!
I have an AR-15 and love it. But I'm the type of person that has shot one gun and wants to shoot them all!!!

How can I compare an M4 to this weapon? Easy, they're both weapons, both semi and fully auto.
Since I'm assuming the guys is buying it just for fun, who cares?
.45 isn't going through body armor, the 5.56 is. So one is better vs. the other depending on the application.
Either way, a nice little AK under-folder is better than either for close range engagements. That's why you keep seeing pics and footage of guys in Iraq with battle field pick-up AK's for going house to house.
The debate rages on! :)
No really. There is really no comparing an AR to the Kriss. Two completely different weapons systems. If the Thompson and an MP5 had a baby, they would name it Kriss! Its a carbine. I happen to love that platform. Its easy to maneuver, employs a heavy round, and it has the added benefit of being of design so simple its nearly elegant. Basically 3 moving parts. For those that arent fans of .45 (commies) it is easily convertable to both 9 and 40. Its comfortable and fun to shoot.
As for resale, its value has stayed pretty stable. Not to mention the interest this thing generates when I take it to the range.
As for the poster that mentioned giving me the boot if I showed up at his club to hunt with this thing? C'mon! This isnt the only firearm I own. Never happen. Itd like going hunting with a Thompson. But youd definitely be welcome to shoot it.
Bottom line:
I live in an urban area where overpenetration is a concern and 30 rds of a time tested man stopping caliber is a good thing. When you figure no muzzle flash, no target reacquisition, integral tac light, and ease of operation and maneuverability the Kriss is my new goto home defense weapon.
Nice talking to you guys!

Still AR vs. KRISS Super V, huh?
Like I said before, I own a Kriss and I love it. The only drawback is .45 can be a bit pricey. That brings me to my next point. The Kriss shoots .45!
Its a sub-gun/carbine depending on configuration. It shoots .45 ACP. I really don't see the reason for constant comparison to an AR. Completely different rounds! I live in the inner-city, therefore I don't want a longe range rifle or the overpenetration that comes with those platforms. Having 30rnds of .45 ACP is ideal for home defense especially when combined with the integral Surefire flashlight. A very cool weapon.

Over penetration?
Anything that meets the FBI's minimum penetration requirement for optimal performance for a bullet that's gonna be used defensively (12-14" in ballistic gel) will go through most household walls with ease.
Including most decent .45 auto defensive loadings.
Over penetration concerns are a silly reason to buy a specific firearm or caliber. Whether it bounces off sheet rock or goes through three feet of concrete is irrelevant, you're responsible for every round you send downrange. Train with your weapon system of choice. Think and shoot intelligently, you'll be fine regardless of what you use.

I have quite a few hours on Modern Warfare 2, and the even greater Battlefield 2 for 360, and I can tell you this gun is pretty awesome. Its less bulky than the M14 or AR-15, but what it lacks in power, it makes up for in maneuverability.
