What do you do for work?

I've had many different jobs in the past.
I used to be a lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the ax.
I worked in a blanket factory, but it folded.
I was a welder at the submarine repairyard, until it went under.
I had a job in a soup kitchen, but I got canned.
I was a cobbler's apprentice and he gave me the boot.
I bagged groceries until I was sacked.
I was a member of the Flying Walendas Trapeze Act, but they let me go.

I'm in residential construction. Estimating is my primary job but since the economy went to crap and we've cut our staff by over 50%, I find myself wearing several different hats.
Livin' the dream

here we were working with AH-1W cobras they were doing gun and rocket runs on targets that we had marked with a laser. the 20mm gatlin gun sounds amazing or scary depends on what side your on
Its an ok job.. pays the bills

Full time Mechanical Engineering student.
Work 30 hours/wk during the school year at both a golf course and internship at a manufacturing plant. Work full time over the summer at both jobs. How much I make...well....I scrounge up enough each month to pay for bills and my truck.
Glad to see so many engineers in here.

in my opinion and from people ive talked to grad school is slightly overrated unless you plan to teach or do research for your career. im just going to get my PE later and then maybe do an mba later on.

Yeah I've got the same ideas about grad school. I made a thread over at the CR4 forums and got the general consensus that it wasn't worth it. Most places looking to hire don't need too many engineers with a Master's degree. The fact that they would have to pay them more is a big factor in hiring, too. Personally I'm tossed up. I would love to teach at a university but I'm burnt out. It's been a long four years. Clemson also has a program where the whole Master's degree for Mechanical Engineers is paid for completely. Not many MEs go to grad school so it's all funded. It's a big decision.
Truck's coming along, nicely, btw. Looks mean.

Nice. Yeah I quit worrying about graduating early. I'm technically a semester behind but it's nice to take your time through college.
