Got passed by a Smart car today

Heading back to Abilene from Ft Worth and along the way I see this small funny little car in the fast lane passing me and I'm doing 73 mph. I think that's about all it could do in the rain and wind. Must be alittle hairy when getting a blast of wind off an 18 wheeler I don't think they look all that safe, it's like driving an alumnium can ??

Best one was this truck, looked like a Toyota. I can't see it yet but I can smell 90wt gear oil. About 5 miles later I catch up to the truck and it looks like the guy doing a John Force burnout. He never pulls off the road and I tell the wife his rearend is going to lockup. I finally get up along side of him to warn him and that's when all hell breaks loose. Rear tires lock up and he's all over the road but he finally sides to the side of the road. I'm just glad I got pass him.

Saw a few trucks and cars off the road and in the grass today. Get alittle rain and alot of folks around here can't drive

Yeah seriously. I pulled a lady out of the ditch 2 days ago in her chevy. She hydroplaned getting on the highway and was in some nasty mud. I am always willing to help when there is a good reason to get my truck muddy, lol.

In the 60s, I had a VW Beetle. Passing anyone in that thing was kind of exciting. Mostly, I had to do it downhill, then they'd pass me on the next uphill!

A lot stronger than you think.

Just don't get stuck between two 18 wheelers and you'll be good.

strength isnt always a good thing. The lack of crumple zones means all the impact of the wreck goes to the passengers of the "smart car"

Hmmm lets try the real world scenario video next

i see the logic behind the smart car... your OK if and only IF you hit another car with a soft crumple zone.... otherwise your gonna be paying for it with pains for the rest of your life.
