just get a shotgun. they are cheap to shoot and easy to mod

Most of Florida is Shotgun only for Deer, which you have and would just need a slug barrel.... but... I agree with the .243 for your area and smaller Southern Deer. Its my favorite for here in SC and would be a nice flat shooter with low recoil. If you want to expand that into a higher power short throw bolt action you could consider .308 or perhaps one of the longer actions like .270.

You won't be able to make a 10/22 look exactly like a AR but you can make it close. The Archangel stock is a little under 200

you canget a .30-30 lever action, they are pretty fun to shoot, or a good bolt action, savage makes good ones.

Nordic makes a kit that will make it identical in size, shape, weight, and feeling of a ar15, lol. I think im just gonna get the Colt m4 .22 though. Unless I can get ahold of some dirt cheap parts.
