At least these guys kept it all Ford and had the difficulty of swapping to RWD.

ls1tech.com is the place for stuff like that. There are alot of cool swaps on there.

A local guy here put one in his 99 Miata. OMG! I'd lose my license the first time I drove it. The way he did it didn't mess with the 50/50 weight distribution too much. There's also a guy in AL who has/had a supercharged 5.0 stuffed in a 1st gen Miata. Hmmm....may have a project for the winter...

There are quite a few Miatas with a 5.0 in them that are pretty quick as well. If you look up Monster Miata on youtube you'll find them. I gotta say though, given the choice, I'd definitely want an LS1/2 to drop in there and have some fun with. The LS1 is only 40lbs heavier than the iron block 1.8L in the miata, and after it's all said and done, the entire swap adds ~200lbs to the car. Not to mention it's a LS1, it's been touched by the hand god.

my brother is in the process of having an LS motor, with a 1900 TVS magnacharger, 6-speed, put in his 89 firebird. (first car had since he was 16)

i dont know what a miata weight is, his

such a compact. powerfull motor. what does a miata weigh?

I've read a stock miata weighs in at ~2300lbs
