Exactly.

Working men will quit or get laid off, and go on the dole.

And as taxes sky rocket (and they will, even if they don't call them taxes) many small businessmen will call it quits. Afterall, why not just get a government job? Shorter hours, better benefits, equal pay..

And big businesses will have less incentive to invent the new technologies that enhance and prolong our lives...

Then the inflation will hit in a couple of years, and real wages will go down down down.

And the answer from DC will be more spending and borrowing....

How many "small Business" owners are the "wealthy"? And if I'm not mistaken I haven't followed it closely since the campaigns but wasn't Obama wanting to give tax breaks to "small businesses"? Small businesses make up 90% of all business in the market. Or its some high number like that. The larger industries is where the "wealthy" people come from.

Our 'leaders' will call it something different, and pretend its better.

So in the future, most Americans won't know they live under Communism. But they will.

Makes me pissed off so many died protecting our freedoms, just so we could flush them down the toilet in the 21st Centruy.

WTG, Amerikans!

***'on, guys! Give the man a break! He's only been in office 6 months. That's not nearly enough time to clean up the 8-year disaster left by the previous incumbent. He'll succeed, or he'll fail, but give him time to do it.

And, just so you'll know, I'm a card-carrying Republican voter - who votes! And, I own 4 pistols, 3 rifles and 2 shotguns.

Keep an open mind.

I think after the socialism, comes anarchy, then totalitarian(which is worse than communism.
That is the cycle for recorded history. But we'll never stop it from happening.

I really want to give him a chance, but what he is trying to accomplish can't be undone. Once you destroy capitalism, you don't get it back.

It was once said, "You will always have the poor among you". Why do starry eyed politicians continue to claim that they can defeat this truth? What makes America great isn't that our Government provides cash for the poor, but that it provides OPPORTUNITY. If you don't want to be among the poor, then you alone are responsible to find opportunities and exploit them. If you are in tough times, then your family should help you like they do in other countries that still believe in the family structure. But we have 'evolved' into a country that could care less about family. Therefore, people have begun to believe that the government's job is to provide for them.

Well I've got good news for ya then. The world will end in 2012, so lets hope by your theory it doesn't turn into communism.

Honestly I think you all over react. Also who is to say your boy McCain would have done better? I tried to give McCain a chance. But McCain's plan if I am not mistaking wanted to keep the tax classes the same as Bush. Why would you vote for someone who was heading down the same ol road? Why would I not voted for someone who is going to help me personally. I don't make nowhere near $250,000 a year. In fact around here I'd only say a handfull of households do make $250,000 a year. And thats a county of around 26,000 people.

Dude, your taxes are going to go up, too.

Cap & Trade will dramatically raise your utility costs and gasoline costs, as well as raise the cost on all the products you buy. Sure, it's not an 'income tax', but it will cost you.

Basically, Obama appealed to your class envy, and he lied to you about your taxes not going up it you make less than $250,000 a year.

Yes, McCain was a loser, too, but even if you accept the premise McCain would take us the same direction as Bush, that direction was nowhere near as bad as where Obama is taking us. Same ol' road? Maybe, but at least it was not the Expressway to disaster.

I grew up poor. My dad worked long hours and worked hard 6 days a week just to give his family the basics. This was after spending 3 years in WW2. I went to work myself at the age of 12 so I could have a few of the extras that were important to me, such as nicer clothes and eventually a car. I worked half a day, my last last 2 years in high school. We knew back then that if we wanted anything, we had to work to get it. I worked my way through college knowing that my parents could not help other than to encourage me and insist that I go. I paid as I went and got a Masters degree. There was no government loans or grants. I say all this so you will understand maybe a little better where I am coming from.

It appalls me to see the society we have become. What happened to the concept of the least government is the best government? What happened to pride in pulling one's self up and achievement? Now, it's all about what can the government do for me. You see it in every aspect of life. Housing, education, medical, storm disasters, on and on. People, we are destroying our backbone with government programs and financial aid.

Where does this come from? Primarily self perpetuating politicians. They have figured out that to stay in office and have power, you buy the votes with government assistance. We were a proud people that helped each other and worked hard to better ourselves. Now, too many of us have our hands out wanting as much as we can get for as little effort as possible. Those people now outnumber the contributors and can elect their socialistic politicians. We are becoming a people of entitlement.

It can not go on forever. At some point, the ones working and paying for the programs will finally say that's enough, I won't do it anymore. Just my personal viewpoint. I am really very saddened for the America that my 4 grandchildern will inherit.
