Thumbs up

Captain Kirk took the Enterprise through a Federation School Zone at Warp 9.

The show was cancelled shortly thereafter.

I had my '97 ZX7R clocked at 179 mph in FL by a kind, very kind, State Trooper. He let us all go with warnings. I guess he figured if we were stupid enough to go that fast on an open road, then a ticket probably wouldn't do a whole lot.

GULP! OK lariat4wd...you win! Thread closed! I never would have thought that a Kaw ZX7R could do 179...wow. It wasn't stock was it? Pipes? Jetted? K&N? ... and?? (Nox?)

At Road Atlanta, I was only able to get my '96 GSX-R 1100 up to 165...with Yosh 4-1 pipe, jetted and K&N. Granted, a little heavier that your Ninja, but still...whew.

Well, having heard some horror stories about the FHP, I would say you were VERY lucky.

yeah, it was "massaged" a little bit.
But for the most part, it was stock. I have a great tuner here. Elite Performance in Odessa, FL.
Never met anyone better. Talked to Rob Muzzy at Daytona one year, he was very impressed with my dyno results. 122.4 rwhp @ 12,250 RPM and 66.9 lb ft @ 9,275 RPM.
Not bad with just a Muzzy full pipe & header, Factory Pro jet kit, K&N Filter, stock sprockets and RK Gold chain. Put it to the ground quite nicely.
For pictures of it, please visit www.BMGSite.com/autos/97zx7r.htm

The trooper was very cool. he just didn't want to have to scrape us up. We kept it under 100 the whole way home after that one.

Question Fastest speed on speeding tickets????

Reading some backlog of tickets recently, I was amazed on how fast some drivers drive. The fastest I saw ticketed for was 128MPH (roughly 206KPH) for a Honda Accord (??!).

Another local jurisdiction had a motorcycle at 141MPH (227KPH).

What is the fastest speed you have heard of (or had) and got ticketed for??

Daaaaanngg lariat4wd...I don't have the testicular fortitude to go that fast. I've been at 105 in my truck and that's plenty fast for me. Never gotten a ticket though.

I was with a my cousin in his 93 Corvette, and he was doing 75 and we passed a cop on the other side of the road, and he just kicked it on down after that, and the cop finally got behind us and he was doing 151 mph, and the cop asked him why he sped up and he said (warning, this was really funny at the time) "To tell you the truth, I didn't think you could catch me." No expression from anyone, the car was towed, I had to walk home, he lost his license for two years, and now his insurance is so high that he had to buy a V6 Mustang because he can't afford to drive his Vette. We all had a good laugh later, though.

A good friend of mine was riding his superbike several years ago. He got nailed racing another superbike. The cop said to him "do you have any idea how fast you were going?" my friend said "no, the speedometer stops at 140mph" He got taken in for that one.

When there was no speed limit in Nevada (long time ago), I was actually racing a Nevada Highway Patrol car with 2 cops in it on I15 going to Vegas. I was driving a 911 and they were in one of the old Dodge patrol cars. They actually were laughing and thought it was good fun. Could not do that today. No ticket - they waved and got off an exit and continued looking for real criminals. I guess they figured the 911 was built for that kind of speed and performance, so it was not unreasonable. In fact, they kind of started the whole thing. So much for the good old days.

F150 is no more - 6/27/01 bought an 01 F250 SuperDuty 4X4, Powerstroke, auto, Lariet, Supercab with everything available. Added a Ford bedliner, bug deflector and Viper 600 alarm system so far.

Ok whats the highest speeding violation in a Ford truck, not these sports cars. I got nailed for 92 in a 55 (i had actually just slowed for traffic) He only wrote me up for a 79 in a 55 though. The judge then knocked it down to a parking ticket anyway.

I am gonna have to agree with you on that one 98 screamer,I never get looks from cops in my truck.Well except for when I am leaving one of the local bars. Then I might as well consider myself being followed untill I get t the freeway.I had a really bad month around 1 year ago where I actually got to take the sobriety test 3 times in that one month time frame.Of course I passed them as I won't drive if I have had more than one beer.(small town cops just look for reasons to pull people over on Fri&sat nights-they just know they got another drunk driver)

No problem here, just came back from Germany and found the Supercrew "only" does 106, still has allot left but it is governed at 106 mph.
By the way, it does run super good at that speed and needless to say I'm not the fastest on the road here.
