Have fun with recruiting...I bit that bullet already, completed my 3 yrs. of hell and now back on the line, thank God. Anyways good luck out there it's a kick in the nuts if there ever was one.

 

No man, got out a little while ago. Gonna pursue a different path in the Army. How you liking VA? You get a boat, or are you on land? Figure out what A school you want to do?

 

The location is okay, I just don't like all the military here. There's a huge navy base here. I'm on a 270. I hope I'm goin to bm a school in April.

Been Air Force about 16 months, loving it, structural maintenance AFSC, keeping the A-10 dinosaurs in the air so we can protect our boys on the ground in Afghanistan, anyone here ever had one circling over head or seen it in action? Heard a rumor the Talliban call them the "Black Death" because once one shows up to the fight theres only one result haha termination

 

Been in the Navy for 12 years now, done some wonderful and interesting things. Funny enough from PA but always been stationed out west, in Cali and Washington State.

 

For all you young bucks out there...yes, I'm older than dirt! But I started in1968 in the AF as a gunner on a AC-47 "Puff the Magic Dragon" at Nha Trang and AC 130A "Spectre" later at Udorn. I was a 462 (don't know what they call it now) and went on to be stationed nearly everywhere until retirement in 1991. It was a hell of ride that I really enjoyed. Other than stints on the gunships I worked on F4C,D's and E's, B-52D's, F-15's, F-16,s, F-5's, A-10's and it's predecessor, the A1E Skyraider.

 

What a fulfilling career you had donbeeler, thats an impressive amount of airframes, must have been awesome to be a gunner, and to have gone everywhere, i can only hope to get the same out of my time in the AF

Currently in AF, been in 3 yrs and it's ok. I am a Jet Engine Mechanic....Been deployed and that was awsome. I am excited I get to test for SSgt this cycle, been studying so I plan on making it.
