Angry Gas Prices:New Record

Today Shell raised gasprice with 4 cents a liter.(2.77 guilder per litre)
All other companies followed raising gas prices.

The old record dates from June 2000.(2.74)

Converted:
RateUS$ 2.5015
Rate Can$ 1.6270

Unleaded 95
US$4.19/gallon
Can$1.703/litre

Premium 98 almost hits the 3.00 guilder/litre.(2.95/litre)

US$4.46/gallon
Can$1.81/litre

Cause:

Thanks to your demand for fuel,US is buying large stocks of oil in Europe.

Some refinaries are out of production due to maintenance.

MF's of our government raised tax rate from 17.5 % to 19 %.

Full tank:US$100,153 Canadian.

Mileage last tank 329.9 km/205 miles.

That is terrible!! Gas went up here today as well, to 75.9 cents a litre, or 3.04 dollars a gallon. (that's in canadian dollars). And I thought $60.00 was bad for a tank of gas!!

I just returned from the Cayman Islands.

89 octane was CI$2.75 or US$3.44 per gallon at a Texaco on SMB in Grand Cayman.

Depsite the gas prices, I saw MANY F150's and even a Lightning...

Record didn't last long.
Shell raised another 4 cents to the litre, yesterday.

2.81 guilder per liter.

US$4.212/gallon (Rate 2.5255)
Can$1.711/litre (Rate 1.6420)

In 1 month time gas has gone up with US$.435/gallon,Can$.177/litre

What you Guys doing!!!!!!!!!
Buying all fuel from Europe, just for your pleasures. It is time your gasprices go up and it better be quick.
Cut down your fuel usage, and drive your truck only when it is needed.
You Guys are killing us here.

F150Europe, our consumption is not much higher than last year, same time. It's the refineries and oil companies strategically taking down refineries for "maintenace" and such shutting them down. As for buying your oil, we buy everyone's. Besides, look at the alternative to lower prices other than buying other countries. I don't think we want to invade another arab country to lower the price of gas $.20 again. And besides, we can't allow our fuel prices to go up to your levels. If that woulds happen, you would see economic turmoil here. Consumers would shut their wallets and purses tight and cause a recession, which would bring the rest of the world with us. What would you rather see, higher gas prices temporarily or a global recession and mass job layoffs on a global level? There's more to our "cheap" fuel prices than for our recreation and frivality.

S.

I still believe the reason out prices are cheaper is because we do not have a government sanctioned and/or opperated mass transite network. Many towns in Europe are connected by passanger trains and the towns move people about on trams, buses, trains, etc... Here in the USA many towns are spread to far apart for mass transit to work as a whole. There should be alot more of it on the east and west coast since these 2 areas are becoming one large metropolise spanning from the north to the south.
I have to drive 300 miles to get to college. There is no way mass transit would work effeicently in the part of the US i live because there is no mass of people to move.
As for the part of americans causing other countries gass to increase that seems odd. If we are buying europes gas then the companies are paying europes prices for it. So either the gas companies are loosing money, not going to happen, or they are just gouging europe as well. Main reason, there are only like 3 main oil companies left. they own the rest of the companies.

That ain't odd.
Your demand is creating a shortage here.
We are talking about the base gasprice here.
I don't mean your gasprices must reach our level.(70% tax on them)
While your gasprices are relatively cheap, the demand for fuel is still high.
It is out of the question that our gasprices should rise more then yours.

Expected is that gasprices soon will rise to over 3.00 guilder a liter (US$4.50/gallon)

If we can only figure out how to lay high tensile cables to Europe, yes then we can get your electricity!

Hey F150Europe,
Lighten up pal.....Look at your own signature. Worst MPG 9.8!!!!! Gee, take your right foot off the accelerator peddle when going down hill. And you whine about OUR gas consuption. Look in the mirror before you start shooting your mouth off about our dependency on YOUR oil and YOUR electricity. If you want to pay lower prices, then go buy you a Mini and quit your whining.......

look to your own house f150europe--your prices have always be higher then the usa---heck when our prices were 79 cents a gal yours were 2.89 a gallon--you want to blame someone blame it on your govt and/or your wholesalers--not us. i am tired of the world blaming everything on the "ugly american". i have been listening to how bad and horrible the american is my entire life--you people almost had me believing it---not any more --to hell with you all--im a usa american and proud of it.

Personally I don't really care how much any in Europe or anyone else is paying for gas, so just shut up about it. If you don't like paying for high gas prices don't drive a vehicle that isn't known for good mileage. Go buy some little 4 banger car and drive that and if you still have a problem then walk or ride a bike but nobody gives a rats @$$ what you have to pay for gas.
