I loved my ranger while I had it, but I could never go back after owning the 150. The Maggies sound so much better on a V8 opposed to the Rangers V6. Might buy my kid one someday.

I don't know if an escape pickup could haul an occasional bicycle .

The F100 idea is the best. The Frontier is on the titan platform, but has a smaller body. If ford put a midsize truck on the F150 platform, imagine the possibilities.

You do have a point, but with what is being seen here we can keep dreaming.

The problem with that scenario is that it's the exact reason the mid-size truck market is so weak -- you get a smaller truck that gets just about as lousy of gas mileage as a fullsize truck, so why not get the F-150 instead? What I would shoot for would be some light pick-up utility combined with substantially better gas mileage than anything that is on the market today.

But he11 -- I also think they should bring back the Ranchero based on the Taurus or Fusion platform......

I would not jump to any "Ugly" assumptions not just yet! I actually thought the Australian model was quite noteworthy!!!

I agree, and as fuel prices climb over the next few years, a mid sized truck that gets descent gas mileage might become more attractive to a lot of us. As I get older the Screw might be too tall to get into, the Lightning might be too much to handle, so a Ranger might be just right.

Maybe I can post a pic...and then again.

I think this would make a dandy truck to mod especially for a younger kinda guy. I think this with a 300HP engine under the bonnet would make one heck of a Friday Night fun ride. For me, I don't need a truck as big as an F150 and frankly, the bed of my SCrew is so dam far off of the ground, I can't reach crap in it anyway. Besides that, a Ranger has a bed that's longer and easier to get stuff in and out of. And remember guys, this is a midsized Ranger, not a mini truck anymore.

Like I said, it's a midsize truck. About the same size as the Tacoma or Hilux but much smaller than the supposedly midsized bloated Dakota. FWIW, the wheels on this pictured truck are 18" to give you some perspective.
