Unhappy A Sad Goodbye!

Hey guys..

I lost my baby (My Truck) this weekend...

So I'll try and make a long story short, bear with me....

I was with a girl for 8yrs, engaged for 3 months (proposed on 12/24/08).
Well, I caught her screwing around with a guy she works with a week after my birthday (St. Patrick's Day). And from that point on, immediately after I confronted her, she turned into a completely different person. Very cold, heartless, disrespectful beyond belief, and etc. So a couple days later I move all of my things into storage and look for a new place to live. Then she tells me she is leaving since she can't afford the place alone. I take that opportunity to talk and see if I can work things out with my landlord. Basically to try and set it up so that he knows I'm staying and she's leaving. And the dude even lowered the rent a bit for me to make it easier, which I thought was pretty damn cool of him. But anyway, so I move all my stuff back in (second move within a few days, fun stuff haha), and she moves out at the end of that week.

Well a couple weeks go by, she calls and want's to come pick up some mail and and potted plants, talk about bills (which she neglected to do before she left), and talk about my truck (which is in her name, not mine). I say alright, come over in the morning. So that morning comes, she shows up late, but is not alone. She is with some family members, and had brought a Uhaul truck to take my whole living room (living room set, 52" LCD, etc). She justifies this because the stuff was all bought under her name. Though I paid for half of the living room set, and paid for about 85% of the TV. So anyway I'm being disgusted with her at this point, this is not the girl I knew. I'm just like screw it, take the living room set. So she get's that out of there, but insist on taking the TV i paid for. Of course I did not let this happen, she got loud, angry, and then picked up her phone and called the police (thinking they would help her get my TV). Nope, they just tell her there is nothing she can do except for take me to court for it, she cannot take it. Then the police repeatedly tell her to leave, she finally does, but just short of getting cuffed for arguing with the officers...haha

So 3 weeks go by, and then she calls me up this past Friday. I had the night off from work, just hanging out, certainly didn't wanna talk to her so I ignore the call. Then about an hour later, she's knocking at my door. She's here to pick up the truck (it's in her name). I asked her if she'd wait till the next day so I could have my wheels and tires switched out. She says no, insists on taking it then and there. Of course I was like to hell with this, she's not driving away with my almost $2,000 set of wheels and tires, I'll never see them again. So then she seems to calm down for a bit, like she's gonna leave and just wait one day so I can get that done. But then I get tricked, she asks me if she can use my bathroom really quick before she leaves. I hesitate for a bit, but then give in (stupid move on my part). And what does this girl do?...After she got out of the bathroom, she literally ran over to my keys and grabbed them. I was just like wow, holy ****! Keep in mind I had my house keys and work keys on this key chain as well. So I run over and try to grab them, my truck keys came off in her hand, but all my other keys came off in mine. So I had to run outside, hop in my truck, and continue telling her she's not taking it..lol Then she has her new little BF walk up my driveway to try and help her, well that doesn't work either, just pisses me off more. I can't tell you how badly I wanted to get out of that truck and just destroy this guy, since he was coming onto my driveway. But that's what she wanted, had I got out of that truck, she'd of hopped in it and been gone....with my wheels and tires, and whatever else I had on and in the truck. If only I had a gun on me at that moment!

So anyway, her new bf got a little shook up, wouldn't come anywhere near me, and then starts siding with me trying to get my ex to just leave and wait till I get done what I need to get done with the truck. I was very angry at this point though. Which is what ends up happening, they left, she was pissed (good!). So the next day, once I got my things off of it, I parked it on the street, left the keys in it, and watched it roll away forever. But hell, I just watched $29,000 of debt (stupidly upside down), and a $525 a month truck payment (not including insurance) disappear too! So that is a very good for me. I've only had this truck a year, I've put a lot of money and work into it, so it sucks losing all of that. But it feels very good to lose $29,000, that's for sure.

I'm honestly so disgusted with this girl. The way she could treat someone so horribly, so suddenly, and so unexpectedly....her fiance no less, the person she's been with for 8yrs. But I'm glad I saw her true colors before marriage/kids, and anymore time was wasted. At this point, having been dealing with this break up for over a month and half, I'm more upset about losing my beloved F-150. I certainly don't want her, I suppose her horrible actions have made it easier for me to try and think....to hell with this.

But hey I'm only 26, now that she's gone, this has been the first time I've ever lived alone...Bachelor pad!!!

Here are some pictures of my baby, I'm gonna miss her like crazy!

At least I was able to get these off...

This is the best F150 site out there in my opinion, a bunch of great people here. I will get another truck, though probably not for a while. But regardless, I'll be sitting back in another F-150 again, that's for sure. And I'll look forward to coming on here and going broke again trying to get it how I want it! lol

It's been fun..

Man, that SUCKS!

As bad as it is now, you are right, it is easier than if you were married and had kids. But it still SUCKS!

Good luck and hang in there! Your next girl will treat you better, that's for sure. Give it time, though.

DanF150, you're definitely going to get another F150. Just take things easy, and you'll get another woman too. Maybe not in that order though.

Yeah you guys are right though, this is all for the best.
Plenty of other women out there, plenty of other trucks too. I'm 26 and single, could be worse...

You may even get lucky enough to get the truck back. The new bf may want it, or it may have just been a revenge plot. But on the bright side your credit wasn't hurt. You know where it is financed, just try to keep track of it. Here in my small town Credit Union and smaller banks will park them on their lot and take bids on them.

Exclamation

The Moral of the Story: Don't do anything so insanely stupid as to intermingle finances with a person until you're married.

Your sad story is a reminder to the rest of us to keep the lease, vehicles, big purchases and bills as separate as possible until you get married!

I can't tell you how many times I've heard of guys walking away from THEIR stuff once the girlfriend or wife drops the bomb.

Totally generalizing, but the man typically just wants to move on, walk away and start over. Some gals are very good at picking up the vast majority of the material items and dodging the outstanding bills.

FWIW, she will have plenty of rationalizations why she should keep your stuff and why you should pay her bills. Fair play and common sense are not in the play book for someone who will steal your keys!
