Wish I had a need for two trucks... let alone two cars.

Because I hate cars, yet need something that gets good mileage. 18 MPG in the F-250 is good, but when you're driving 80 miles a day to work and back, it starts to suck.

Well if you're thinking mileage... What does that Ranger get, maybe 23MPG? You're not saving that much at all compared to the 30MPG of the Crapalier.

Dad had the exact combo Ranger as this one, now its my brothers. He got 28-29 MPG in it. The Cavi™ is getting about that.

That mileage average sounds way off.

I drove a 2000 Ranger 4 cyl 5 speed regular cab short bed with 60,xxx miles for a while and barely averaged 25 with it, 85% highway driving.

The thing ran like a top. Good little truck.

His has been a great truck, it has 200K on it and is still on the original clutch. When he had it, he did all highway driving.

I'm not trying to sway you from getting it, just discussing the mileage figures, which I know you have thought of already.

If you're man enough to handle the Grimace and Barney jokes I say go for it.

Not all rangers get good mileage. I had a 94 Ranger that only got 14 mpg best. It truly sucked now matter how easy I drove it and it was an auto. See if you can borrow it for a couple days, if you drive 80 miles a day it won't take long to go through the tank and check the mpg figures.

LOL... Thanks Stealth. Mom and dad seem VERY serious about getting a new(er) Jeep Commander very quickly, so I might just hold out for dad's old Ranger and buy it off them... I'm going to look at a 2006 Commander tonight, loaded with the Hemi.

Thats funny my 1994 ext cab 2.3 4 cylinder with the 5 speed got 27mpg every time, best little truck ever 100,000 miles on it in 5 years and never had one problem. think we replaced brakes tires and shocks at 85,000 miles

Hold out for the white Ranger. Selling the Cadaver shouldn't be that hard (great starter car for some 16 year old) and you know the history of the truck. You may end up buying someone else's problems with the purple one and you have no idea how it was maintained and driven.

Thats what I was thinking. Plus, if I buy the purple one, then I've gotta pay taxes and license on it. With the white one, I'd just have to pay mom and dad for it and keep it in their name.
