SuperCrewMark,
It really depends on which K6-2 450 you have. There are really two of them, one uses 2.4 volts and the other 2.2V. The 2.4V usually is not a good overclocker. Now the 2.2V will go up anywhere to 500-550Mhz. But you have to know that once you start increasing the speed you are risking frying you CPU.
Here is a good article that goes into the details, http://www6.tomshardware.com/guides/overclocking/ , because if I go into all the details this post be very long. But let me know if the site isn't detailed enough for you. I have a few hundred links for tweaking you computer.

Those shows are great for good prices but bad for returning bad parts sometimes. I built both of my kids systems in above post from parts bought all at a show last month here. Ran me about 800.00 a piece for both systems with all the parts(NIB) purchased from the show.

FM40 single in/Single out the side.Clear Corners just installed.Pretty much stock now but waiting for performance mods to include FIPK,,Superchip, new wheels/tires and new audio.

I wish i knew how!! I am running a PII 350 with 416 megs of ram on Me. Are you just playing around with jumpers? to achieve these numbers? Also are you running better fans to do this safely? thanks for listening to the computer illiterate!!
Nah, never overclocked, not really into those sorts of speed gains... I've found I can boost the speed of my system a lot easier with more ram... coworker of mine used to OC everything (mostly Celerons that were hacked to do SMP ... back in the slot1 models that you had to physically solder to get it to do dual proc), but stopped when boxes started dying all over the place. Some of the boxes still don't work quite right. As far as my PC specs, see below.. not as beefy as some others, but I wanted an SMP system and Athlons didn't have that when I built it last year... it's still speedy enough for my purposes.

Anyone doing home networking? So far, the best little piece I have found is the Linksys BFR41 (4 port switch-DSL/Cable Router). Cheap, surprisingly powerful and "might" protect you (acting as a firewall). Between it and some 8 port switches, this is some great education in networking (in case you have considered career moves). If you get some machines and network, you can do a server, some workstations, DHCP, DDNS, port forwards, filtering...etc. It's a great 'lil hobby and might take your mind of your F-150 upgrades (yea, right).
'course if you are happily married and want to stay that way...I don't recommend this.
Preyhunter...glad to see someone catch the "camping" piece...heh.

Talleywacker: What you are describing would work on a fully jumpered or fully jumperless board. But on the MSI (the most stable KT133A MB out there) there is an issue with initializing the bios and the default CPU multipliers. You can check it out here.. http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1440&p=2

Wow, your computers make mine look like a Yugo.
AMD 350, 64 Meg PC-100 Ram, 4 gig HD.
Creative 6x CDRW Drive
Voodoo 3000 3D Card
I've never oc'd because I don't have a clue on how to do it. I read the how to articles posted above and still don't have a clue. I'll probably just buy a new comp one of these days. 4 gigs is so hard to manage especially when trying to use AutoCAD 2000 and still have room to make audio cds. Oh well, if I had the money I'd get a new computer, but until then mine still runs IE, AutoCAD, CD burner, and Warcraft 2. That's all I need.
